Life insurance exam

Hello all, has anyone had a life insurance physical exam while taking anabolics? Im seeing mixed statements on Google searches on if they test for steroids or not. My bloodwork is good as long as they don't test for them specifically. I searched the forums and didn't see any post about this. Thoughts and experiences would be much appreciated.

They don’t test for anything other than maybe a basic drug screen. Mine didn’t even do that. They just ran the basic health marker labs and checked my blood pressure.

I came off my trt for my life insurance application. My trt raises my rbc which contributes to slightly higher than normal blood pressure so I came off. When they asked me what prescription I’m on I told them testosterone, adex, tamoxifen. This threw up serious red flags on their end and I had to get an underwriter involved to present my application to a few different agencies. I also had my doctor stop writing me a script for tamoxifen as that was the drug that caused issue obtaining life insurance. Although in our world it’s taken for gyno it’s a cancer drug.

Anywho, if you are self medicated and your blood markers are in normal range your fine. In my case I have prescriptions and needed to be forthcoming as they can see and access your doc records.
