Hey guys,
My Stepfather has just recently started taking up weight training for the first time. He is 6'-2", about 280... hasn't really been very active in a long time. The training has been really good for him, especially his health. I have been doing everything I can to keep him going, because I figure it's these first couple of months that are going to be tough for him.
Anyway, he seems to be doing great on the Leg and back movements, but when it comes to any pressing movements his right arm seems to just take over. He has never had any type of injury or anything, I think it's just not being used to pushing with both arms. It's only the second week for him, but I don't want him to get discouraged. I seem to remember I had the same problem with benching when I first started out and I have seen it with a lot of beginers.
Anybody have any advice on some things he could do to speed this mind muscle connection? Because he has been in-active for so long, I even suggested him doing some push=ups at home every now and then to get his head into pushing with both arms. Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated...
