Lifting shoes

Hey guys. I've always trained in Ryderwear which is completely zero heel lift and flat sole. But after dealing with knee issues for the past year and a half I'm thinking of giving lifting shoes a shot.

I was looking at the Adidas powerlift 3.1 since they're under $100 and seem pretty good.

I do alot for ankle and hip mobility, but I find if I place 10lb plates under my heels alot of times that makes my knees feel better. So I'm thinking lifting shoes with a raised heel are a smarter option

If anyone has any input here I would appreciate it

If you liked the shoes you have, why not get heel lifts you insert into them? I have a set that gives good arch support as my arches are fallen but not flat plus raise my heels 3/4" and my gym shoes are flat soled Nikes.

I have those same shoes. Have had them for 4 years and they have never let me down. I also have knee straps and a belt now... been injured too many times.

Look under the powerlifting forum and gear review. A lot of shoe talk. I know a lot of people like the adidas. I have some nike romeleos that work pretty good, but they are more expensive.

I use converse at the moment, probably not the best but they're not horrible. I've got a buddy that uses inov8 and really likes them

I used asics (high end running shoes) a few times - huge mistake. They give big time and they have a raised heel. Idk man the raised heel made it harder for me to get to depth on squats, haven't looked into it so idk why tho

I have a pair of the powerlifts and they're great for squatting and OHP. Very stable and snug. I highly recommend them unless you have wide feet. They fit a bit narrow.

I have those, a beat up old pair of converse for deadlifts and Reebok Crossfit Speed TRs for general gym use.

Using the adidas. No complaints here except like was mentioned they seem a bit narrow. Every time I put them on I feel like I’m wearing tiny dancers shoes. Make my feet look small. But great improvement in stability in all my lifts. One thing is my gym has some weird rubberized/plastic? matting in the squat/dead areas and if you get chalk on the floor and on the soles it seems a bit slippery. Just watch to wipe the soles off if you get stuff on them.

I'm talking about squat shoes, shoes specifically designed with a lift.

Also, I did purchase a pair and they greatly reduced my knee and back pain
I don’t need or like heal lift shoes to get full depth in my squats. Usually an inability to get full range of motion is improper feet placement causing the hips to bind.

Did you go with the adidas? I’ve started getting knee pain as my squat weight has increased so I’m thinking it’s time to pull the trigger and I’ve looked at the adidas in the past.

I started wearing some knee sleeves and I’m going to make sure my form is up to par. Sometimes I think I get too excited about the weight and my form slowly gets screwed over time.
