Magnesium intake

For those of you on multiple compounds, how many mg of magnesium are you supplementing daily? I'm currently on 250mg test c, 4mg reta, 3iu hgh, which seemingly all increase magnesium need for varying reasons. Been taking 200mg in AM and 200mg before bed, but considering upping it.

Testosterone - accelerated protein synthesis and ATP hydrolysis
Retatrutide - glucagon agonism and diuresis
HGH - GH to IGF-1 production process and subsequent anabolic signaling process and GH sodium retention (while reta is promoting sodium excretion)

I did! But I didn't read through all of it yet. And damn! That's a lot of magnesium. How is your stool?
I'm still going on a regular haha o_O

I usually take it all an hour or two pre bed; I sleep pretty well doing so, and don't feel the inherent urge to go lol. I might just be falling asleep before I get that urge but I instantly go in the mornings (sorry if that's TMI...)

But overall I think higher doses of Glycinate are crucial on gear and stimulants, from 1g of Mag Glys. you get around 200mg elemental magnesium, you'd need to take a LOT to get a good dose of elemental Magnesium

If im not mistaken maily magnesium citrate and hydroxide do that, those dont do shit for sleep too i think? Since they dont pass tru brain take it with grain of salt

Hmm maybe purity thing? Or they sold u other mby citrate? Most comapnies are not 3th párty tested or dont post their tests from what i have seen they get away with too much shit

The most trusted suplement brand in my country for example claimes they test everything but never show the tests and when i asked them if i Can see them they said their stuff is tested but cannot show it to me lol, indian scammers are more trustworthty

Look at the fine print, many products are branded as Magnesium Bisglycinate and then contains oxide aswell. I even had a product from Vitamatic that was completely hiding the fact that it had Oxide, I even asked customer service if it had oxide in it cause the magnesium content was too high for it to be pure glycinate, and they straight up lied to me. A later edition of the product then contained "oxide" in the fine print.

MagGlyc doesnt make you gassy / explosive poop - if you get that its a pretty sure sign of oxide in the magnesium.

Also Magnesium L-threonate is a good tool to improve sleep quality, its expensive unless you buy bulk but the higher you go the better.

Elemental magnesium has been something I’ve been looking into lately and has proven very frustrating. The vast majority of supplement brands don’t disclose how much EM is in their product.

So far, the only brand I’ve seen disclose it is Nature Made 200mg magnesium glycinate. They claim 100mg EM per 200mg pill. Since some sources claim you want a minimum of 300mg EM per day, I’ve been supplementing with three pills each day later in the evening.

If you have any recommendations for good brands that also disclose this information, please share!

You should be able to just ChatGPT/AI and ask how much elemental magnesium for a given type, like "how much elemental magnesium is in 200mg of magnesium glycinate." Barlowe's does print elemental/pure on their labels, though. I take Magnesium Broad Spectrum Complex.

(Turns out that example yields ~28mg of elemental magnesium.)

I take 350mg Bisglycinate. One of the best esters to absorb. on Magnesium by ESN lab tested

Also take a look at Mag-Tab SR.. Magnesium L-Lactate Dihydrate. It's commonly used in medical settings for a reason. It was my go-to for years, and then this past year they had a huge supply disruption, and I moved on to other products. It's also pretty expensive, relatively speaking.

I know. Companies never disclose the amount of Elemental- that's why I double (or triple) up my Magnesium dose. I'd rather play it safe and overdo it compared to something like underdoing it, especially if I'm high doses of AAS or stimulants.

I personally use the Nature's Bounty one from Costco. Green bottle, pretty big and lasts for a good while

Interesting thread. I only take 400mg mag glycinate in the PM but reading these posts I might add more. Does it make you guys sleepy if you take an AM dose or do you just take it all at night?
