I need to know, that if one were to take steroid use, does he still need to consume all those carbs per day. I know that you need at least 2-3 grams of carbs per body weight, but by taking steroids, can sufficent protein intake all day do the trick as well? Will one still get gains?

just answered in your Dbol theread..YES you need the carbs unless your trying a lean mass gain..whats your stats bro.

Protein should be 1.5-2X bodyweight and carbs 2-3x bodyweight while on AAS. IF going for MASS.

Well, 4 years ago I weighed 164 lb at 6 foot. Now I weigh 205 lb. I just started lifting in January of this year like good and consistant. I've been in and out of the gym for 3 years. My body fat is 20%. It's friggin hard to gain muscle but stay lean. I don't eat any shit food...I eat healthy, good, proportionate. I've hit my 275 bench press in 2 months from 225, and 630 on the leg press. I just started juicin this past Wednesday.

go buy some whipping cream, penut butter, cheescakes and snickers, whole milk and sugar loaded juices, along with muffins made from the supermarket they have 700+ cals in em and spread pb on em, whole milk to wash it down, good to go, and if you have a good cycle your running you wont gain much fat if you keep the crbs moderalty low, the whipping cream is the best tip i ever got!!!!
also just a tip try to keep the foods clean and natural and you will feel alot more healthy than woofing down mcdonalds cheesburgers althougth that does sound good dont over indulge

Just for pure mass gaining the rule of thumb I follow is appox 1.5-1.75 grams protein and 3.5 grams carbs per lb body weight per day.....This is assuming my workouts are freakin intense and I'm doing adaquate cardio. I am a hardgainer thou....

Ok check this>>> Does a person need all that adequate carbs and protien per day if he doesn't work out the intensity of a particular group of muscle. Let's say I never ever work out legs... do I still need the full 205 grams protein and 400 to 600 carbs for my 205 lb body, if I only ever workout my upper body? Lets say I only want to work out arms...would myu arms not grow if I only eat 100 grams of protein a day? Questions to ponder on,,,

Why would you only want to work out your arms? Just want big guns, but a big ass??? Point is, as was already told to you, if you want mass, you need mega protein, and alot of carbs each day...keeping your 3000-4000 calories coming in per day. And, an intense, well-rounded training program. Especially if you are going to take AS.

The answer to your question is no - you wouldn't require the same cal/pro/carb intake if you just worked out a specific part of your body (with some assumptions). Just look at it via thermodynamics and work. Working out your entire body requires more energy than working out part of your body. Your body will require less energy and therefore less fuel.....But as lonewolf said - WTF would you only want to work out a specific part and forget about the rest??

If your concerned about carb conversion to fat you can curb this by regulating your carb intake to those which have a low glycemic index. That way you can still carbo load - have enough glycogen - (without carbohydrate timing) - and gain mass because your protein won't be converted to energy - all while minimizing fat gain. Just make sure you spread the meals and don't take in to much at any one sitting.

If it's one less workout a week then you are technically utilizing less calories as energy. Especially since your leg day (if done properly) will consist of the most demanding movements of the week. I personally don't understand why legs would be neglected on a 'mass gaining' cycle, what's the point of a bulked up upper body if you can't stand on it?

Amen to that! My legs are the biggest things I have going for me (especially the horse-sized middle one)-- and they take a lot of calories out of my body. Just walking deserves merit as a decent aerobic exercise. Always go for the complete package- the whole body! (apply this to women and you're golden too).
