MCT Oil C8-C10-C12 ratios

Hello,

I was wondering about how much of a difference the different fatty acid percentages in MCT oil matter for PIP. From reading other threads, it appears that C12 is what causes it, but does anyone have any info on the maximum percentage of C12 where this becomes significant?

Reason is I'm looking at a shop with a pretty good price and their Ph.Eur. MCT consists of this:

there are 60/40 c8/c10 out there look for those I hate it when they state a wide range like 35-45% wtf is that....?
Trying to research this ratio thing but coming up empty maybe I'm not looking in the right places but all I can find relates to ingesting the oil orally.
the only thing I found is some people swearing the 100% C8 is the best for brews.... but no research to back it up....

Here is a thread earlier where metioned it! Just take a look!

Hey, yeah that's the thread I saw before but they don't mention the ratio of C12 at which it begins to cause problems. Might just go for another source.

I can't find any 100% C8 that's Ph.Eur. I did find one that's 55.9% C8 and 43.6% C10 though, shipping costs more but I might just go for it instead. Seems legit.

Ph. Eu. C8 is basically non-existent, only way is to import USP grade from the US.
Mind sharing here the C8/C10 mix you found?

The cheapest Ph. Eu. mct that I was able to locate was this one MCT oil (coconut based, Ph. Eur., BP, food grade)

but they do not state any ratios :)). might have to email them and see if they have a pdf or something

The source that you shared looks like a S3 Chemicals reseller I'm fairly sure, which is the stuff that I shared in my original post :p Link for reference: https://shop.es-drei.de/harze-oele/7670/mct-oel-auf-kokosbasis-ph.-eur.-bp-lebensmittelqualitaet

Here you go, this one looks fine I guess: https://www.salandia.de/Sala-MCT-Oel-Neutraloel-Ph-Eur-konv-1-L-1000-ml-Glasflasche

You weren't kidding with the shipping costs .... I think I will experiment with some local suppliers even though they are not Eu. Ph.
I can tell you that the all time recommended NOW brand MCT is not PIP free, is it from the c12 or from other crap that is in it remains to be determined

Thanks for the info, I'll steer clear. If I give the Salandia stuff a try, I'll try to remember to report back on how it felt.

These % estimates are big ranges. If you want 100% of one fatty acid and 0% of another in this range (MCT), you're gonna pay a pretty penny.

NOW has been pip free for me? Ever pin it filtered just the oil? No pip

Not sure why that first part was phrased as a question... but yeah, 0.22 PVDF filtered NOW MCT is fine for me. Maybe @29trt has a chip on his shoulder about C10/C12 or something.
We already know that peoples reaction to different oils varies drastically its not a stretch to imagine that some guys are more sensitive to c12 that is present in some mct.
I ussually brew my own shit, and have tried a variety of ratios for BA BB thinking that was giving me the inflammation I was experiencing next day after pinning all with NOW Mct oil.
recently I got some QSC oils and I get absolutely no PIP (with primo mind you)
the MCT oil they use is much thinner so this has set me on the search for a better alternative for my own brews...

I have noticed that it is dose dependant, 0.5ml is fine but more than 0.7ml per shot gives me local inflamation next day... so it must be some component in the Now mct that my body does not like and the major suspect is c12

I live in Europe and i am using some MCT oil bought from amazon.
The label says it has 98%C8.

Unfortunately i have bad PIP on every shot, the area is not red but swollen as fuck.

Anyone had some similar experience?

I don't understand.... Since it's full C8, it should be pip free?

P.S.: I don't filter the oil alone before adding raws and BA and BB, i just filter the whole 3 together.

I'm starting thinking it's the testE raw but some friends of mine use my brews and they have no issues... Mmmh
most likely it's the test E, some folks get horrible pip from it while others don't, it's weird.... it gives me red swollen bumps that look like infection and last for days.... stick with Test C or Test D in the future

not sure if it’s the right kind to filter and brew, but saw this at Costco the other day and thought about this thread. Apparently c8 and C10. No 12. And cheap
