Too funny you should say that...I also think it could be low thyroid@Graftman what about some T3 for your wife?
It should help with weight loss and energy
and both studies and anecdotal evidence says that the thyroid always recovers back to normal.
Thanks Wendy! Your advice definitely sits right with me....she just hates meds but at some point when you feel bad enough your willingness changes. Getting older sucks! Just when you get the means to start doing what you like the body starts to make a fuss!I’m an old broad on trt. Love it. I definitely agree with the blood work and hormone panel as well. Turns out I had NO hormones. At all. Like a Ken doll. Thyroid was also very low. So now I’m on a cocktail of progesterone, trt and thyroid meds and have a new lease on life. I had no idea that feeling ground to a nub was anything other than normal. Have her get checked out and on the right mix for her and she should see and feel some results. While my metabolism isn’t what it used to be (I’m 51) I feeeeeeel so much better. And my body is aight for an old lady. Good luck!
Hey ladies,
So my wife is just entering menopause and shes been thin her whole life. Shes far from overweight but is really down as her metabolism has slowed and she has a bit more weight than she'd like.
Im on TRT which helps males keep the weight down, but the female version doesnt seem to do the same. Any advice from a hormone perspective that she could investigate?
...also Dr.Jim I've read your posts for years...a pleasure to chat for the first time!Have these issues been discussed with her physician?
She can try some T3 to see if it worksToo funny you should say that...I also think it could be low thyroid
We are just in the process of getting hormone panels....my experience in Canada is that our physicians are not as forward thinking as their U.S. counterparts when it comes to aging and hormones.
For example my doctor will only test my TSH (I take .112mcg synthroid for 20+ years)
and prescribed me TRT (Test E 200mg/ml 1ml/wk)
He refuses to test estrogen levels as "thats for women".
Hopefully her new doc is better...we know her and shes younger so hopefully that helps.
Hi Dr. JimAnd your doc is CORRECT w few exceptions bc the risks of TRT may outweigh the benefit at higher TT levels.
How much does she take?My girl is menopausal, is on trt, and trt is alot different than running a cycle. And is incredibally beneficial

What changes does she notice?20mg per week sub q
Make sure you get her IGF-1 levels checked at 1 iu. Most women don't convert exogenous GH as well as men do. They sometimes need a littler more so not sure if 1 iu is enough.Hello, my wife has 2 problems, fybromialgia (pain) and menopause (increase in fat weight) loss of libido, we started hgh meditrope 1ui the evening.
