Meso Powerlifting Corner

I'm sorry I derailed the thread...I digress.
I do want to say that although I don't contribute to this thread I have read it since Jay started it. I lift 70% BB but I like to use the big 3 as my base. Everything I know about the PL part of my routine I learned on this thread. I use the big 3 % format from Sheiko block 30 as my base and I build my BBing movement around those. You guys have taught me so much. Thank you.

That's what I'm fuckin talkin about. If I competed I would rock the fuck outta that bitch. Hell I might wear that shit to the grocery store lol.

It would be pretty funny to do a meet and all show up in different superhero singlets.

Once I have a few meets under my belt and I know Im not going to make a fool of myself Im going to get a theme singlet. I just didnt want to do my first one and be the loser in an ultimate warrior singlet who missed all his lifts.

The day Meso stays on topic is the day I quit.
I learned everything about PLing from people here and books / articles they recommended. Only reason I started this thread was because im sure Doc, INH, and MP were tired of me derailing their threads to ask dumb questions.

So I went to the gymnasium today to further train for my upcoming powerlifting meet. It was the first time I used my brand new belt (and the first time Ive ever used a brand new belt). Bent down to do my deadlifts and GOOD LORD, i almost quit and walked out.
Ive heard the stories about how a stiff new belt will cut into your obliques and etc, but you never know it until YOU feel it.

I'd like to get a separate belt for deadlift eventually. Not quite as wide as the one I have. It's good for squats, but I think a little more narrow would be more ideal for getting into the starting position for deadlift.

But yeah, it does hurt. Try wearing it a little higher.

For now Im just gonna suck it up and hope to "break it in". It was good for 1 rep, but triples and above it kept moving.

For sure, I've been sucking it up for over a year now. You're taller, so it might be fine for you once you break it in. It'll get less stiff, just wear it a lot. Throw it on for stuff you don't even need it for to speed up the process.

So I janked up my neck doing OHPs today. I can already tell its gonna be 10 Xs worse in the morning. Anyone got any remedies? (I dont have access to heat pad or cold pack atm)

I hope that everyone has been doing well, and training and injuries are coming along in the proper directions. I have been incredibly busy lately, but thought I would stop in and see how everyone is doing. It is time to begin a new block of training and I have decided to try a different approach. I am going to see how I respond with a more frequent training approach while using a lower daily volume. I'm going to continue my total weekly loading averages, but switch up the daily totals. I intend to start a log on here and update it weekly. Best wishes to everyone.

I've used this approach for quite a few years now. As I reached my mid 40's long sessions at high intensity just zapped me too much. I have a good home PL set up so training 6 or 7 days per week isn't an issue. Short sessions of 45 minutes or less each day with the exception of deadlifting days. Good luck with it S and P. I think you will like it and should make good progress.

I'd really like to try this approach someday when I have a better home gym setup. I've done a bit of reading on the subject and I really like the sound of it.
