Mild but annoying acne

So I have always had some mild acne, which I contribute to bad habits face touching, and no sort of face cleaning routine.

I don’t really think it’s gotten any worse since starting TRT probably just that I’m paying attention more now. I have had a routine, I’m very consistent on and have been for at least 90 days or more. I have tried quite a few things and decided simple os the best. It’s not terrible mostly on my face, and head. Anyway acne is slow forming deep takes forever to head of it ever does. It’s usually painful and will not go away unless I pop them, and even then it seems like they take forever to clear up and fully go away. Any suggestions or thoughts would greatly be appreciated.

Dawn soap in mean time, prior to accutane

No accutane, your ance is not that bad as described , start by washing ur face twice a day and wash ur pillow case often, if u wear a hat or hard hat at work keep them clean, I get bad ance mainly back shoulders on blasts with certain compounds and I wouldn't touch accutane with 10ft pole.

Thank you all for the advice. I have been a bit wary trying the accurate as well, but have been interested in the low dose. I do wash my face twice a day, I have been on top of the pillow case as well as my towels. I have been trying DR Bronners castile hemp soap. I like it a lot ! I think I should see a dermatologist and maybe I’ll try out the dawn and dial. Thanks again everyone.

How frequently are you pinning ? Fluctuations of high and low hormones can cause acne. If it’s only mild change your pinning to Ed or eod or 3.5days max for the most steady blood levels. That’s what works for me

I pin ed if you don’t have any issue with doing it then I would recommend. Also use an insulin needle to pin that helps a lot with scar tissue and injection sites if you are going to pin more frequently. You can get different lengths for it I use a half inch that is long enough for me to go intra muscle
I’ve thought about it, pining doesn’t bother me. Maybe I’ll give it a shot! I also use an insulin 27g 1/2” works well

Back in the day 1 shot a week was fine now days twice a week is fine eod is optimum, everyday only thing ur doing is doubling your chances of a bad shot or infection.

Pin Ed. Use dawn mixed with tea tree oil and dexidin Ed or EOD. Scrub on affected are with a soft scrub. It will dry you skin a lot. Make sure you moisture your skin after. In time it will kill most of the acne. Try that before accutane.

What do you want to buy? And where are you located? If you are in the US, buy OTC Adapalene gel. That will do it and is probably easiest to get. You can also get Tretinoin cream. Both are good. Expect some redness and irritation but these products WILL remove every pimple from every pore on your face and over time, prevent the buildup.

You can also use doxycyclin 100mg per day.

No more popping.

I am in the us I have tried the adapalene gel , multiple brands, seemed to work but not for long and no better than my current. Wash with deep pore cleanser then dry face very well and use hazel witch. Never heard of the other two. I will look into it. I know popping is bad it’s just so damn annoying after 2 weeks of being painful and head won’t form. Thank you for the advice

How often did you use Adapalene gel? Maybe you didn't use it enough. You have to use it a few times a week, atleast. If that doesn't work, get Tretinoin cream. Same class of drugs but it may be better. I've used both. Both work. I like Tretinoin better.

Can you take a picture of your acne? Like a small segment.

You must stop popping. You are creating inflammation and driving bacterial infection. You are then left with inflammation and then eventually hyperpigmentation. It's a vicious cycle. You have to stop popping.

Doxycyclin is an oral antibiotic and it is also prescribed for acne. It obviously takes care of the bacterial component. The Tretinoin takes care of the skin renewal component. But the third component is you stop picking at your face. Break the habit.

I agree it’s a bad habit, it’s been hard to not touch my face which I did not realize I did so much. I don’t have any good acne to show but I have some I’ve already popped. I don’t think these are that great but here is a few examples

I know your skin type. I think Tretinoin would be good for you, because it not only gets rid of acne but it will improve your actual skin.

I have some other recommendations, in addition to the Tretinoin etc. If you want to just try something like spot treatment, you can try benzl peroxide but it is annoying because it will bleach everything, like your clothes or bed etc.

So for spot treatment, specifically on the body, you can try any iodine. Povidone iodine is good and is brown but doesn't stain. Lugol's iodine is stronger but stains. Just put a drop on the spot, as often as you can. You will stain brown, but you may not like that. You can also make your own SSKI (supersaturated potassium iodide), which won't leave any brown stains. SSKI is clear.

The iodine, when it penetration into the acne (or any skin problem), will destroy anything that is in there.

Other than that, your skin isn't too bad and it seems like you just have this stubborn acne that is directly caused by you picking at it and driving the cycle further along. So I would use some doxycyclin to kill off the bacteria, then Tretinoin cream. And for spot treatment, some type of iodine.

Awesome! Thank you for the advice. It is very much appreciated. I will try that out. I really feel like I need to get this nailed down before I run my first cycle. I don’t want it to blow up, when I decide to run it.

This is some of the really annoying stuff. I guess maybe you are right. Can it be that I’ve been fighting and just spreading the same stuff, that really never went away? I guess the worst part is popped or not they are leaving marks that don’t seem to be going away. I’m

Have you ever tried dawn dish soap, to be honest, to go on a medication for that little bit may be overkill, have you tried dawn dish soap and just better hygiene? Take an extra shower a day.
