Moonshining with Icky

It's very easy if you use soft solder. Brazing is technically the higher heat method and is more difficult, soldering and brazing are often used interchangeably though.

If you do it, tag me here and I can tell you exactly how to do it in about 4 steps... Can't go wrong.
You ever get your still? You had a purdy one picked out

Not yet. I've been thinking about it recently though... Probably grab it soon. This thread popping up was a push in that direction.

I really think it would be less time consuming than making a batch of beer. I liked home brewing but I just don't have that much time to devote to it. I'm excited to try it... I had fruit shines at a wedding a while back that blew me away. My girlfriend, who isn't a big drinker at all, wouldn't put the jar down.

What's fruit shines?

Typically the moonshine you hear about is made with corn, possibly with sugar added to increase alcohol content.

Fruit shines are essentially Brandy. You can do it several different ways but you essentially distill a fruit wine into alcohol. It'll carry over some of the fruit flavors into the finished liquor and then you bring them out further when you flavor them with fresh fruit, juice and or extracts

Those are so much more palatable than a generic sugar shine.

Get your still ordered dude, and I'll get the white lightning going on my end. Moonshine revival time!

Thank you!

Our traditional one is plum brandy, Slivovica. At high school our British lector always joked that it's the only word of ours that made it into English language :D

I might try that one! It's kind of a summertime activity so using local fruit in the summer just feels right.

Yeah, I am strongly considering avoiding sugar altogether. Maybe make one of each, neither with 100% sugar though, and see if I can tell a difference. I've had 100% corn before and it was very good... Smooth and sweet.

Between the new cannabis vape cartridges and the bottle of homemade moonshine in my not too distant future... I predict a satisfactory summer in the backyard by the bonfire.

When I started using things like raisins for additional nutrients I noticed a quick turn around in flavor. You're headed in the right direction with the fruits.

Fucking vape pens. I'm the only dude on earth that can't handle a vape pen. I can hammer on a bong or a blunt but the damn oen makes me cough like a bitch.

I can definitely recommend the plum one!

I generally find liquor intolerable, but a cold shot of home made Slivovica is real nice.

And there's no need to add sugar to that one at all.

Raisins act as a natural yeast nutrient as well, if I'm not mistaken. I used golden raisins on a batch of wine one time that turned out really nice. I'll have to keep that in mind.

Man these carts are really smooth. Although, one is strawberry cough... It was pretty easy to determine where the name came from. All of them do give a weird sensation though because you kind of draw and inhale at the same time. I got them on Monday and haven't really given them a thorough try... However, tomorrow afternoon I'll be messaging you from Mars... Possibly even Pluto if I get carried away.

Weather is nice on Pluto at the moment. All this talk of shine has me puffing like a madman. Lol. I foresee a bump in the road up ahead.

Awesome bro. That’s much appreciated!
