The reason they're overpaid is, and I belive thick said this, is people are sheep, they bitch and complain and they keep buying the tickets and they complain some more will they're buying $5.00 hot dogs.
Even if they lowered ticket $ and food $ down to almost nothing players could still make extremly good livings. If fans would not go to games for even one month it would force the owners hand but we can't give up our sports so WE keep paying there salaries........11

thick, i just don't watch sports, except womens' beach volley-ball. i just can't use 'em and, not to be a dick at all, i've really got a lot better things to do with my time... i guess that's why i have such a cavalier attitude towards this.

Blame Baseball

Yeah it sucks to see the great imbalance in Basebal.
But not fair to blame the YANKEES or AROD. Thay are just doing the best they can in a stupid system.
Baseball is a great game, but because of the NO SALARY CAP it has become unwatchable, unless your team is doing good.
They should follow the NFL & do revenue sharing.
This way all teams could have a chance & no one team just dominate with huge payroll

I would boycott all sports in a heartbeat if we could get some sort of alliance. I already boycotted buying tickets for pro sports or music concerts. I would go see a Royals game if they still have 5 dollar bleacher seats. Musicians are just as overpaid. Look at these freak rockstars etc. They have the same number of sheep following them. 50 or 100 bucks for a concert. fuck that.

i agree with you 100% thick. i love music and i am a musician, but when concerts started costing 40, 50 and 80 bucks i had to draw the fucking the line. it's been many years since i've gone to see a concert, with the exception of smaller bar-type venues where a ticket costs b/w 10-20 bucks.

has this stopped the price increases? absolutely not. but at least i know that i'm not helping this ludicrous trend of robbing the public blind. now i, too, wish i could get support from others and have folks boycott concerts en masse....

I have my favorite athletes. Chipper Jones is my favorite baseball player but I could care less to have his autograph or anything else. He is no better to me. My parents and friends are my heroes. Hollywood and the other aforementioned clowns are nowhere on my list. I hope my son feels the same about me. Those people are not role models. It all really pisses me off

I hope they get him. He is a guaranteed loss in the playoffs. I have watched the braves around 50 games per year on tv for the last decade(4 games/wk or so). Maddux gets shelled. The only good games he has left is when the ump gives him the call on balls 4 inches outside.
