My first DNP run w/ log & pics!

Since I can't ever seem to find ANY before/after pics of DNP runs on the net, this will be my log/attempt. I will try to update this thread daily til I'm done.

Stats:
5 foot 9 and approximately? No idea... I haven't been on a scale in 6 months, but I'll let the pictures be the judge for you all. Used to be 240 pounds in 2008, and got down to 210 5 months ago. Been slowly losing ever since by eating right, and moving more. (mix between weights and cardio) Told myself I wouldn't give DNP a whirl until I got my workout & eating regimen down proper.

I know I could lose the rest doing what I'm doing, but this DNP is burning a hole in my pocket, sitting in my cupboard for the past two years, so I figured I'd do a little experiment and post up the results.

Cycle:
As Conciliator has mentioned/suggested, don't plan out your DNP cycle in stone, since it's all about assessing tolerance first. That being said, from personal experience, I'm fairly sensitive to anything new I put in my body, so I will be starting very low.

I have a bag full of two year old, black/yellow capsules @ 150mg crystal a piece. I think this comes out to 112.5mg's of actual DNP. Guy I got them from tossed a anti-moisture packet in there, lol... not sure if that helped keep them fresher or not, haha. (even in a plastic bag, this shit stained the hell out of my cupboard yellow)

So the goal is popping one 150mg cap around 1pm w/ food. I will do this for 4 days and on the 5th day, I'll assess if I want to go higher. Goal is a short 10 day cycle for now w/ hopefully no side effects.

Diet:

I do intermittent fasting, (loosely based around the leangains.com version) which may be dropped if I feel like shit on DNP. But will continue to eat super clean on a 40/40/20 split (carbs/protein/fat) which I may modify, depending on how I feel. Will eat around maintenance or slightly below. (2400-ish is my maintenance) Will keep some apples & bananas around for the fructose, which I read can help with lethargy, if I encounter any. Otherwise I will stick to complex carbs... sugar generally makes me feel like shit.

Diet will consist primarily of lean boneless/skinless chicken breast, Ezekiel sprouted grain & whole grain bread, steel cut oats, tuna, cottage cheese, a lot of salad, almonds, almond butter & almond milk primarily. I'll toss in some fruit as necessary.

Supplements:
Opti-Men multi
Fishoil - 3g's three times day w/ meals
R-ALA - 100mg's three times a day w/ meals
Acetyl-L-Tyrosine - 300mg's once in the morning
Acetyl-L-Carnitine - 500mg's three times a day
Vitamin E - 1000mg's @ night w/ last meal
Vitamin C - 1000mg's time released twice a day
Mega B-Complex - once a day, after first meal
Quercetin - 1000mg's twice a day
Yohimbine HCL - 15mg's first thing in the morning
Might also pickup some Glycerin & Pyruvate, we'll see...
Plenty of water, some V8 on hand, Pedialyte & Benedryl just in case.
Couple tablespoons of Brags Apple Cider Vinegar morning & night to try and maintain a good ph balance... since as I understand it, DNP makes your bodies ph balance tip towards acidic. ACV should help as a good alkalizing agent... (along with all the almonds I consume)

No EC stack... Ephedrine fucks with me bad. Never been able to handle that stuff in the past. Which is why I won't touch Clen. So just coffee & Modafinil for energy. Modafinil also doubles as a great appetite suppressor.

Will take my temperature throughout the day, to make sure everything is fine. Have a blood glucose meter as well, to make sure I don't go hypo. (I'm not a diabetic...)

Plan on hitting the weights, light, 3 times a week, Monday/Wednesday/Friday... undecided on the cardio on alternate days... may leave that out.

Question:
Has anyone taken DNP on a empty stomach? What was your experience?

Before pic attached...

Even tho DNP makes you retain water, I'll still post a mid cycle pic again in 5 or so days.

Do you notice the heat from DNP to be more "dry" compared to regular sweating? Stuff like Ephedrine and 1,3 give me regular sweats but DNP seems to cause tremendous heat in my back. It feels like standing next to an open oven. 1,3 doesn't seem worth it to me if you use Ephedrine since 1,3 is just the legal alternative.

Funny you say that... yeah the heat on DNP is totally dry for me so far, but as soon as I started taking 1,3, I noticed more actual sweat these past couple days.

Not sure if it's related or not... could be DNP has just reached a point to start making me actually sweat liquid now.

BTW, I track all my food with a online/phone food log (myfitnesspal)... I'll post up the log for this entire cycle, so you all can see exactly what I ate everyday.

Day 12 -

Thinking of making this my last day, not sure yet tho. I'm happy with the results so far and I think I want a good solid long week to recover and get back into the grove of things. Working out and the gym is almost like therapy for me and I miss it.

We'll see tho.

Side effects are still minimal... body heat is there, sweating occasionally, but not too bad. Skipped taking a third cap last night, so I could sleep well. Two 150mg crystal caps is definitely my safe/comfortable zone it seems.

I know I'm holding a fuck pile of water, I can definitely feel it. But I can still see results for sure. Sorta wished I would of weighed myself now, but o'well. Pics & fat calipers will have too suffice for now.

Regardless of what I decide, I'll keep this log going after my last day, up to a week after, to record how my body recovers and also for the final post-water bloat pics.

Day 13 -

So I decided to make yesterday my last day to dose up... I'm @ a point I just 'feel' like I'm done, mentally and physically and my body is telling me to stop. I also don't really want another week of feeling like ass. (all tho my side effects are manageable, I could easily go another week)

Now on the scale off side effects compared to the numerous other reports, I had it very easy and mild.

Lethargy was the biggest side effect by far. Heat would be the second most prevalent and third would be minor minor sweating on occasion. Only one night I really woke up in a decent sweat, but that was because I took a capsule right before bed and downed a banana. Lastly the water bloat, definitely noticeable.

Carbs cravings - none
Hunger cravings - none
Yellow piss/sweat - none
High fever - none (other then the occasional spike after eating, but that was very brief and never even hit 100)

All in all, not nearly the living death most have described. But obviously DNP is highly individualized, so your mileage may vary. Also I tapered my doses very low to start and monitored myself closely. (which is key)

Would I run it again? Probably not... I'm a junky for testing new things and keeping logs. Definitely a hobby I enjoy and DNP was quite the unique experience. But I can take it from here. Like I've mentioned previously, I went from 240lbs down to around 175lb's the hard way. I actually enjoy putting in the hard work...

I think the key benefit to DNP, like anything, is using it as a tool and not as a solution. I see so many people on various DNP logs online who are extremely overweight, trying DNP and this seems like a big mistake to me. Not just for the possible health consequences, but psychologically. You need to put in the work, do the life style change and get healthy first. Otherwise I suspect most who run a DNP cycle who are extremely overweight, gain it all back.

In my humble opinion, if you're over 12-15% bodyfat, DNP is not for you. Even that estimate may be high.

I could be over analyzing this tho... anyways, I'm rambling, haha...

I will post pictures later today and my food logs as promised. Will post another, final pic a week from today, post water bloat. :)

(re-read all that... anyone else picture Jerry Springer's - Final Thoughts as well? lol)

Day 14 - Post DNP

Energy has come back w/ a screaming vengeance. Even yesterday is was noticeably better. I know there is a 36 hour half life with DNP, but it certainly doesn't feel like it at all. Can't wait to rape some weights tonight, haha!

Forgot to post pics last night, will have to do it this evening. Definitely bloated a bit still. It'll be interesting to see how my body changes over this next week as I lose the water...

Attached is my food log as promised!

Day 15 - Post DNP

Weird energy fluctuations today... but tolerable. Last nights gym session was decent, strength didn't go down, so that's good.

Here's pics from Sunday as promised. (I know my chest looks weird/lop sided in the front shot, it's because I was holding the camera up with one hand)

I don't really see any difference, other then more loose skin. But I suppose the big difference will be the end of this week when I lose the bloat.

I actually feel more bloated today by far, versus the last couple days. Really odd.

that is a very impressive and complex nutrition log. an outstanding resource. great work man.

Thanks! :)

Actually enjoy doing shit like this... if/when I reach my natural potential and decide to jump onto the AAS train, I'll definitely get a kick out of posting those logs...

I suspect I'm a few years off from that point tho, haha...

Finally got a chance to get back on here, Awesome log man! Congrats, and thanks for it! I'm still goin on the DNP, but will likely stop this weekend- I'm down 15 lbs since I started about 2 weeks ago- it's getting warmer here, and with that, I can't afford to be a walking heater much longer.... lol @Jerry Springer!

Day 16/17/18 Post DNP -

Back to 100%, gym sessions are rocking, everything normal except ONE thing...

I have bloated like the god damn Michelin man... I know everyone reports the opposite but jesus christ it's like someone stuck a hose in me and turned it full on.

I'm trying to figure out why... only thing I can come up with, is my body was so starved for carbs, that once I was off DNP, everything super saturated itself.

But regardless of why or how, the water bloat is really bad.

Still, I'll post a pic Sunday, regardless of how I look for the sake of this log. :)

The bloat is related to your carb intake though. If you keep the carbs down for a few days you won't get it. The whole glycogen supercompensation aspect seems to be something preferable though. You get increased "energy" for the lifts, plus the leverages from the sarcoplasmic hypertrophy. I'm definitely going to do some more reading on it, because I'm not sure how I want to come off. I know that I'm having a hard time with my lifts and have added a PH to help maintain during the cycle.

Hey guys, sorry about the lack of updates... had a unexpected death in the family and had to take care of some arrangements.

Bloat is pretty much gone but it took a while for sure. Bloat definitely got A LOT worse after, up to a week, then subsided this past week.

Haven't had a chance to workout that much this past week, but have maintained eating healthy @ maint and around 40/40/20 on my macros still.

Will try to snag some pics tomorrow...
