You weren't super low, so I wouldn't expect vitamin D supplements to solve your issues. It's more about longterm health outcomes. BUT...you haven't verified that the supplement has actually raised your levels. Some people need big doses of vitamin D for whatever reason(s).
I see. I will make sure to get checked the next time I have the opportunity. I guess I assumed supplementation would raise to appropriate levels no matter what, considering the range is so large.
Another point I want to make is that in order to feel your absolute best...you really need to have everything optimized. So this means proper hormone levels, clean diet along with eliminating foods that you are sensitive to, proper sleep, limited or no alcohol/caffeine/drug intake, find and eliminate nutritional deficiencies, vitamin D levels, reduce inflammation, etc. etc.
Start with your diet and the gluten issue first, though.
I've wanted to try this, really. I might have to wait until summer, though. With school it is always something that sets me back.
I just hope in 3-6 months I am really able to notice a change and more importantly, being able to attribute it to eating gluten-free. Similar to the Vitamin D issue you mentioned above. The reason I hoped for a test is so I didn't have that issue. It's so difficult to keep things constant in your life. Especially with so much going on health-wise for me.
Have you had your testosterone levels checked since you started androgel?
Yes, I believe it is posted in my initial post. Any thoughts on whether I should continue it's usage?
you are acting like going gluten free is a super difficult thing or something, sheesh
If you had read you'd realize it will be difficult for me. Not for self-control issues but because I live in a fraternity house. We have a cook. She rarely cooks a meal without gluten. Before these health issues had risen I committed to a meal plan until summer with the house.
I've been doing it for a year now and it's not that difficult, in fact there are the benefits that it forces you to think about your food choices and avoid crap fast food places that might be too convenient otherwise
That is a good thought. Thank you for your input.
