Hello everyone. After trolling around on here for a few months as a non-member I decided to create a profile. I wanted to introduce myself and let everyone know that I appreciate all the information on here. Ive only been working out on a consistent basis for about a year now. Ive had little spurts here and there with sports when I was younger that helped keep me in halfway decent shape but now im trying to put the extra time and work in to see a better form of results than ive had in the past. Im 30 yrs old, 5'9" (5'10" on a good day), and 178lbs. Im not sure of my body fat percentage but I know I could shed a few pounds and lean out a little. I have just a little experience with gear and its something I should have waited on until I was more educated on that matter. Its great to be able to find a place where people share their experiences and offer advice. I like that theres alot of discussion about harm reduction and the legitimacy of what people are doing or intend to do. There are so many components involved in proper workout routines, proper nutrition, proper use of gear, proper health precautions and the informtaion ive gathered so far reading through has been fantastic. I know that people can be a little harsh sometimes but I think its par for the course and well deserved at times, especially when someones giving terrible advice or suggestions based merely on broscience with no facts or proof or research to back it up. So again thank you for all the information and open discussions. I hope that in my quest for healthy gains I can get the advice I need from all of you and your experience.

5'10" 178 and you are not sure of your body fat%, and you have only trained for a year? If you do run a cycle, focus on high reps 8-12. You need to bring up your tendons before you lift heavy. You will get strong fast and possibly injure yourself. A torn bicep or pec that will take you out for months.

You should train natural for another year or 2 before running a cycle.

I could do some kind of calculator for my BF % but they vary on what they use and what the outcomes are. Id much rather give an accurate one but based on the ones online its probably somewhere in the 17% range.

Stats

Age: 30
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 178lbs

Flatbench 1 rep max: 245
Deadlift 1 rep max: 335
Squat 1 rep max: 225

All lifts are based off of good form with controlled movements (no bouncing) and after a moderatewarm up

Yes I know my squat max is terrible but im working on it ....

5 yrs seems a little long to wait .....

It makes sense in that you can make alot of progress during that time and potentionally reach a point where youre happy with strength or physique going natty but wouldnt it be based on what someones trying to accomplish and what their current build is?

5 years was thrown out there like a blanket statement and were all unique in our makeup and goal. I think that needs to be taken into consideration along with other factors like training time, routine, intensity, diet, and nutrition.
