New Vehicle

New vehicle prices are insane
Especially on trucks
Most decent equipped fullsize trucks go for 40k or more. Trucks are now luxury items
Meaning most people dont ever use them for their purpose. Pure flash
Which explains this disturbing trend of 2 wheel drive trucks jacked on mudders. W-T-F is that piece of garbage gonna do? Pretending at its finest

Do your self a favor. Buy USED from a quality NEW dealership. Get a 4x4. Anything american is solid as fuck. Considering we been doing this longer that is as true a statement as can be made. That oughta get you down to high $20,000 range. Let some other person pay the depreciation. That used truck will haul the same load as new.

If speed is your thing the f150 (best selling VEHICLE on the PLANET for 39 yrs straight) sells the ecoboost. Fastest mass production vehicle on the planet. Stock. Its a v6. This is fact.

If you want a real truck go Ram 2500 or F250. Solid axle front and rear. Chevy owners need not apply. Sorry GM aint made a real truck since the '80s.

Cant speak on toyota. Never owned one. But i like the hardware they put in the tundras. Big strong axles and borrowing alot of technology from ford including fully boxed frame rails.

My last suggestion...
Why not a jeep? Rubicon jk should be in order. Best stock off road vehicle on the planet. Made in Ohio. Straight axles front and rear. Stuffed with lockers and a winch stock. Removable top and still comes with a stick!
You could also buy a new basemodel Honda civic for 20k

If I could get a truck it would be the f350 dually with 7.3

Years ranging from 95-98:)
Diesels sure have come a long way. Back in the 90's and 80's you couldnt beg some one to buy one.

Currently the big 3 are in a HP race. Ford has stated numerous times being first to 1000 ft/lb torque is a major goal for them
Pretty crazy when you think about it...

Can't comment on buying a new vehicle - too expensive. I can offer some other suggestions though.

I bought an e46 a little over a year ago for less than $1600 or so. Changed the breaks and some other things but everything else is running perfect on the car, just needs some front suspension work currently. There are only a few things that would put me off from buying a vehicle used if it's something I'm looking for and those are usually rust or the car was run low on oil or it's in bad cosmetic shape.

If you're looking to save $, just do the same, find something that you actually would want to drive that needs something fixed and get it. Fix it for cheap, drive it for a year or two and sell it for more than what you payed for. You made $, now upgrade. Do the same thing.

You'd be surprised what you can get real cheap because it needs a new fuel pump or a clutch or some shit.

I need an upgrade too - I'm trying to find an old 5 series that isn't an automatic gearbox and that's a I6 instead of a V8 - but no luck so far. Hell, I'll even take one that needs an engine replaced since it's something I really want, and I could sell it for more than I payed for after a year or two I'm sure.

I commend you for wanting to buy American though. I would do the same, but I enjoy vehicles that are capable of doing corners. :)

Good luck jay.

I own an F250 and it's solid. I had an older diesel F250 before this one and I loved that thing but diesels are a pain in the ass to be honest. I will always have a 4x4 around now that I have experienced owning one.

My next vehicle will be a Jeep Wrangler four door though, I'll still keep a Ford F250 of some kind around.

Carwise, has anyone driven a buick lacrosse? Just happened across one in my search. Decent price for a used one with all the goodies.

Nothing wrong with that....lol

I had an expedition I sold last year. Thing was just a money magnet. Thats why I wanted a tahoe because I lost a little faith in ford

Tip of the century:
Do all repairs yourself
(Its cheap as hell)
And youll be more manly immediately post repair
Shops are ridiculous and mechanics aint geniuses. Even if you arent mechanically inclined you can learn
easy about not geniuses! lol not all mechanics r greasy slobs . i do a lot of diagnostic work and it is tough but ur rt .many of u can fix many things urself. theres a ton of info online .just b careful who u get it from cause most of it is from clueless people. i get a kick out of forums when a guy w a 2013 escalade has a check eng lt on w a rough idle and another guy says he had the same problem w his 1988 escort and needs a distributor ! wtf shops r expensive 125 hr. labor rate, but the overhead is crazy. trust me I've been in this game for a while . one tip .dont buy cheap parts online ,from salvage yards or cheap stores like advance or auto zone. napa is pretty good and country wide . also u can always ask me and I'm sure i can point u guys in the rt direction

Ford over chevy
Murrican over import
Turbo over stupidcharger
Off road man vehicle over girly grocery getter
Im so over the ford v chevy bs
Makes no difference. Were on the same team
The enemy is toyota and nissan
But ey... it gets complicated...GM has been in cahoots with Toyota for some time now. Building the tacoma and colorado in the same plant. Which inevitably means... the same parts???

And i have never once bought a truck to go fast
And never once bought one with out a transfer case
I buy it to do everything.
Doomsday vehicle. Truck is the ultimate in capability and versatility. Where i come from a man is known for his truck. One in the same.
Jackin your truck up to avoid little man syndrome doesnt help our image
Especially when you put 20" rims on it. Then you just become satire. Cuz no self respecting off roader would ever use 20's effectively on the rubicon trail. Same goes for that gay ass who buys a 1 ton dually and doesnt even have a hitch or a 5th wheelo_O

Guys who slam their truck are gay too

Lmao, your too funny bro. Everyone gets a piece of your mind

Honestly, all of them make good and bad models. I have just had better luck out of fords then the other two, HOWEVER i would take them over a foreign truck anyday. They all have things i like and dont like about them, shit my ford has the turning radius of a freight traino_O

I mean.... Do you really want to go around with those ugly things?

You have those beautiful mustang and Camaro in America. cars that deliver lots of fun. A shelby cobra? Ain't your thing?
I could start a list of models and brands you could buy... I mean they can't turn much but sure as hell on a straight line they deliver a nice punch :)

I Iike those ugly things
I suppose foreigners dont get it.
Gas is expensive over there and they all wanna go fast
Americans have too many foolish ways to spend money. And we like things supersized here
Ill take unstoppable vs fast any day

Actually I would never being able to buy a mustang or a Camaro due to engine size and gas consumption. so even that is not ok here in Europe. But I do understand how a big truck is nice, but not as a first car. Maybe on the side as a second car. :)

Probably yeah... It's just a different way of see things especially because of culture and gas price etc. :)

I like 2seat car so it's hard for me to understand ahaha
