Newbie Storage Question

Hey gents,

I received a kilo of Test E a few weeks ago received in what appears to be vac sealed packaging from QSC. I don't want to open it until I need to for my first homebrew, but if its better to open and store it in new vac sealed mylar bags, I will.

What would you recommend? Just keep it in this bag? Thanks for your help.

Keep it in a cool place and ensure it always stays below 20 degrees. I did not do it and wasted 100 grams test e.
You was better off buying test c

i put those bags in yet another vacuum sealed mylar bag with an moisture absorber. opaque bag in a cool dry dark place.

So we keep our house at 72F and you’re saying it needs to be more like 68F. Does that 4 degree delta make a difference?
Ice melts at zero degress and is solid above that. So yea it does.
It melts completely at around 32 degrees and it becomes a gel around 25. I leave in Netherlands so it is cold most of the time. I bought it in the winter and it was completely solid. After a few month it became like a gel but still usable. In summer it got to around 30 degrees most of the time and that was when it became a complete liquid and fused with the plastic bag.

you will be fine, just put it in some corner of the house far away from any heating, next time buy test C, 1kg of test E is bad for long term storage. test E is shit.

Would you recommend me splitting it up into smaller packages?

Or just brewing a fair amount now? As in, would it keep better brewed in MCT oil than in this big block of raw powder?

For very long storage better not to brew it, as raw powder can last 20+ years. Oil will go rancid sooner or later.

Yes split it in smaller size bag. I would say few 100gr bad and few 50gr bag.

Alright, will do.

I am a special type of retarded at times in life, so just to make sure I do this right:

1) open up the kilo of powder
2) scoop out raw powder of 100g and 50g amounts into smaller Mylar bags
3) insert a couple moisture absorbers into bag
4) carefully squeeze out excess air without powder going everywhere
5) close
6) store in stable temp and dark environment, cooler is better

At first ,just try to brew it . I suppose you can’t use it without fever .

No... Point 2 is done into food vacuum bag that will be vacuum sealed with oxygen absorber. Than you vacuum seal that bag into another bag. Place the double vacuum sealed bag inside a mylar bag and close it (no need to seal it).

Store in a safe cool place
