Newborn and fitness advice

Personally I use the newborn time for a bit of a deload and cruise. My next son is due any day now. I’ll cut back to 3-4x a week and up the intensity each session. I started lifting more on weekends so I can go when the family is napping. As someone mentioned above, mom will 100% resent you for having “me time” while she’s stuck at home with multiple kids.

I missed a lot of my first sons infancy because I was working 2 jobs and lifting a lot. Between my schedule and the sleep deprivation, I don’t have very many memories of him being tiny and nice. It definitely sucks when his mom asks “do you remember when…” and I don’t remember what she’s talking about.

My new mindset is that the gym will be there forever. My kids only grow up once. Ultimately i have to sacrifice one of the following:

Work time
Family time
Gym time
Rest / Lazy time

It’s not realistic to think I can go 100% in every category
That's an awesome mindset.

I'm very lucky that I work from home and that's made it easy to find time for the gym, but I'd ditch it in a second to make sure being there for my family was prioritized.
