Odie's First Log

Sounds like your mind is already made up ;)

If it comes to them selling it or me taking it over then yes it's made up. I really didn't want to retire and move up there till my mid 40s. I had planned on building those storage bins this summer an collecting a nice check from that every month till then. I love that place. We've been there 20 years and have owned it about 4 years now. My favorite memories are from that place

What if you got some trusted friends to run the place for you and your parents? That could give you some time to make a transition. Your current job sounds stressful enough maybe a career change could well be beneficial for you as you can still pursue your passions. Also keeping that park in the family will also be a good thing.

Maybe a Meso hangout there lmao

Just my 2 rusty pennies.
I'll take the first shift!

So there you go ;)

Not a bad place to retire to I'd say....you got a great thing coming :)

Umm.. Yeah the fishing is awesome

I'm younger than you and I would take that offer in a heart beat. Lol. From the way you make it sound that place is a damn gold mine. You have plenty of room to put your own spin on things
If I had a job like Odie's, running that park would be much more fun IMO.

Jesus odie...
I don't even know what to say?
That's a hard choice:rolleyes:

I'd be on the lake by noon everyday. Drinking a beer disguises as an iced tea and pissin starboard when ever the seal gets broken. And catching all the damn fish. All of em! Yall can't have any.

Ive lived the Marina/Bait-shop life , it was great . Had to sell the Marina in 2007 when gas went thru the roof (remember $5/gallon ?) it killed all the Marinas on the lake .
Thats when I left Oklahoma for Oregon . (I made $30K off the Marina , but I miss it) and the life ....

Wouldn't you ever want to go back to it?

Not to Oklahoma , the state has way too many problems . Plus it treats its citizens like dogs ...but I do miss the Marina life , fishing , jet-skiing ,stocking the minnow tanks , all the Bass tournaments/money ,flipping burgers, selling beer , drinking beer ,lol .

Flirting w/ chicks (the Marina almost cost me my marriage , yes I was BAD)

I see, why not move to TX? It is just a state over from OK.

Bet you still are bad lol

I think Oregon is my homebase . I"ll just use my motorhome to see old friends & relatives .

As far as cheating I have had my many flings . I now just look ...(I got a good woman , shes put up w/ more crap then most would) and wouldnt want to put her/myself thru that again. Cheating is alot of work....

(remember $5/gallon ?) .
Ya I do. It used to cost me a fortune to drive my lifted 4x4 to work and back which was 34 miles one way. That was back in NY.

Not long ago here in TX gas was a tad below $2!!!
I never thought I'd see that.

Folks up in the NE get shafted on fuel prices. Not to mention they blend it with chemicals so your not getting 100 percent gas. I'm not talking ethanol either. During the winter months it's not uncommon to see a 70 mile per tank loss just due to winter blended fuel. In the NE that is

Hey now what's wrong with Oklahoma? I love living in Oklahoma because it's easy to plan a vacation since everywhere you go is better than here, lol. But we do know how to have some fun. I really enjoy going noodling for some monster catfish and kicking back with a beer while I'm frying it up. Oh yeah I love it here [emoji4]
