Alot of guys (younger) do alot more volume than me , look at Odies log , Brutus & JB"s log , those guys do 20-30 plus sets per bodypart , which I did too at their age . Nowdays I rarely go over 10 or 12 sets per.
Odie is a beast, for sure. Need to get caught up through his, then I'll definitely be checking out the other two.
When you think about it as being on a set per body part system then yeah, you could think that 10 sets is not high volume. It's just that you are killing ten sets of squats I think that impresses me. That's some metabollically demanding shit right there. When I was on a five day split, yeah i'd run at least 15 per bp, but it was always broken up over a bunch of stuff. A bunch of stuff that was easier on the body than all those squats, lol. The usual 3x10 or 5x5 squats, hop to the leg press, burn out on the leg extension type routine. Rarely do you see us mere mortals going purist and staying in the rack for a whole session, and for good reason (it hurts like a bitch getting used to it, lol).
I really like your training style man. This is really what I've been gravitating towards getting back into this. I've been trying to put together a home setup, for various reasons, and this no nonsense mentality sits well with me, and makes more sense with less equipment. Easier to track progress, easier to focus on, and all highly functional, ass kicker lifts.
See, now you've got me all fired up. Time get my ass in gear and make the drive to play it again today. Hopefully they have the oly bar I've been looking for. I need more weight!
