WowHere are are few of the recommended cycles in Anabolic Reference Guide.
You guys care to critique the "Diamond Pattern Cycle", "Inverted Pyramid Pattern Cycle", "3-Week Blitz Cycle" and "6-week mini cycle"?

I also think before doc based TRT and enough guys to have regular labs as comparables these numbers were more on the conservative side out of playing it safe.Yeah, crazy low doses and short duration
2-300 deca for a few weeks
There’s a 11 week test cycle and doses are 250 a week (2 weeks at 500) and 3 weeks anadrol off and repeat.
These would be considered very low today even for a beginner. What’s changed? Think they reported lower than what they used? Gear better back then or people to busy these days and rely on drugs?
Look at the primo doses 1-400 a week, people now say 700-800-1000 a week is needed and needs to be run for half a year
Both Mentzer bothers supposedly used very large regular doses of deca, among other AAS typically available and used back in 70s and 80s. Interesting that they both died from heart related health issues. Arnold used lots of Dbol in his day, among other compounds.Anymore stories from the golden era?
Mentzer smoked a ton and was known to do cocaine to cut up and “help concentrate “. That may have contributed to his heart issues, the other brother thought he had kidney issues and was on dialysis ?Both Mentzer bothers supposedly used very large regular doses of deca, among other AAS typically available and used back in 70s and 80s. There have always been guys who used massive dosages of anabolic steroids even in the 1970s.But I've also heard of golden era guys who were reckless back then as well, going way over the amounts that were rumored to have been "norm", I think it was Boyer Coe who came out and actually said ,"don't let anyone fool ya, we were reckless back then too"
Great find!!!There have always been guys who used massive dosages of anabolic steroids even in the 1970s.
There's this guy - Pete Grymkowski:

I bought that book as well but must have thrown it out, seem to recall he did a bunch of interviews when it was published some of them may still be online. Google timeThere have always been guys who used massive dosages of anabolic steroids even in the 1970s.

I'd definitely recommend Randy Roach's Muscle Smoke & Mirrors trilogy. It's expensive but well-worth as it's the far most comprehensive treatise available. John Fair has a couple of good books but nothing compares to Roach's work.Any more info like this? It’s gold!
Appreciate the input and rare gems like this!
Great find!!!
Is he still alive?

Yea, I have a couple more for ya. Arnold usually competed around 215 lbs and never had arms over 22", one day ken walker bet him 100$ he was not over 215 lbs and Arnold jumped on the scale and before they could get an accurate reading he hopped off. This came from a guy who grew up in the gyms out near Venice beach and was around all of the golden era guys.Anymore stories from the golden era?
