Old guys: remember anabolic reference guide?

Also, the whole gay thing with bodybuilders has been around since the 70's. 2 doctors used to keep up the bodybuilders and let them live with them, give them cars to drive and money. One was named Walter and the other was jacott I believe. I think Walter went to prison eventually. They would script nandrolone and one was big on test, the other not so much (can't remember which was which from stories passed on to me by my golden era friend) back then 200mg of nandrolone every 2 weeks was common, and guys got results from that. Now the Mentzers were rumored to have pushed nandro up to 2 grams a week. Mike was almost homeless several times, had a bad addiction to speed and was borderline psychotic.

Also, I heard that Serge was into amphetamines during diet phases which was probably why he could eat so infrequently. Not saying I'm that old or was around any of these guys, but stories get passed on through the years

Mentzer smoked a ton and was known to do cocaine to cut up and “help concentrate “. That may have contributed to his heart issues, the other brother thought he had kidney issues and was on dialysis ?
I missed this whole post, right up my alley. Yes, Ray Mentzer died of Berger's disease, a kidney disorder.

Never had that book but I had the World Anabolic Review 1996, bought it when I was 17 or 18 I think and read it back to front about 100 times. Dreaming of the time when I felt ready to use steroids once I’d built a decent base and just imagined blowing up from them.

Used to read all the musclemedia 2000’s until they went away from the steroid of the month articles etc bodyopus was a great book also but the best of all in my mind were dan duchaine’s dirty dieting newsletter. Used to love that! Such groundbreaking stuff that was in there IMO, lifting the lid in synthol use, dnp, SHIC’s, yohimbine useage.

Thinking back to those times also reminds me of the Vince McMahon WBF day’s. I was a fan of Eddie Robinson. I was usually interested in bodybuilders that were about my height 5 ft8. I met him when he was guest posing at a show in Philadelphia probably about 92 or 93. I was most impressed with not so much his width but depth. He was a solid MF.

MM2000 was like getting a playboy back then, I’d see a new issue and got so excited, they were the first to be open about steroids and had great steroid profiles back then until it turned into a 100 page EAS advertisement.

Kids these days have it so easy with the internet. Shit, there’s porn everywhere, I remember having to stay up till 3 am on showtime just to see some titties lol. I think things were much more appreciated back then. Even finding steroids was quite difficult.
