I'll start by giving a little background to the injury and follow up with some questions that can hopefully be answered.
Around 15 years ago, I was doing dumbell rows and didn't control the weight on the way down which caused a pop in the area of my elbow. Hurt like hell and could hardly bend my arm. Went to the doctor about it, and he told me it was just tennis elbow. Mind you, this was a jailhouse doctor, so they didn't do any x-rays or anything like a normal doctor would have. But I took his word for it, like a dumbass, and never asked for a second opinion. The pain went away after a while(can't really remember how long it took), but I never got full ROM back in that arm. I can straighten it fully, but I can only bend it about 75% of the way. Not because it hurts, the fucker just won't go. Fast forward to a couple years ago. Got tired of dealing with it and really just wanted answers more than anything. So I went to an orthopedist to have it looked at. He ended up scoping it and cleaning out the joint. He said he didn't see anything that needed repaired. Well that did absolutely nothing to help with my ROM. Asked about an MRI, but he won't do one. So that's the background on the injury. A couple months ago I finally started hitting the weights again for the first time since the injury. The tricep on that arm feels extremely weak compared to my other arm and I'm having slight discomfort/pain right above the elbow. Nothing I can't work through, but it's there nonetheless. So, I guess after saying all of that(my apologies for the lengthy post), I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar injury. If so, what was the diagnosis? I'm guessing there was sond tendon or ligaments damage done to mine. But after all this time, is that even able to be repaired at all?? I would love to have my full ROM back. I'm kind of paranoid that my biceps are going to have completely different looks to them since I can't do a full curl with that arm. What are your guys thoughts? Again, sorry for the lengthy post. Just wanted to make sure I got the full history out there.
