Partial Thickness Tear of Supraspinatus Tendon

Nitrust

My shoulder has been killing me for years, and finally got an mri on it, and I have a partial tear of the supraspinatus tendon.

I am suppose to go to see and orthopedic soon, but what do you guys think I am looking at, surgery?

I don't think it will heal on its own. Anyone have this injury?

Sup Nitrust. My guess is if it's been nagging you for years, it's not going to heal itself if it hasn't already healed. I would follow up with ortho and go from there brother. Maybe they'll come up with some rehab without the knife but I've yet to meet an ortho surgeon who doesn't love to cut.

I know, I fear the worst honestly. They are gonna wanna do surgery and I'm out for 6 months. Shitty

I have a couple small labral tears really holds me back. If I had a chance to get it fixed I would. Do it. You may have an impingement or type 3 acromion process which will cause you to tear it again down the road, so ask ortho about that. Best of luck

I've got some spurs where I've greenstick fractured my left clavicle about 1" from the tip (when I was 6 years old) and that's been causing issues with the muscle all these years...seems I got to go get that fixed too

Ya buddy, you will find your weaknesses pretty quick with a barbell... Sux, sometimes I wish I picked a different hobby

Yeah I did find my left shoulder ached a lot under the heavy bb presses. I've neglected that shoulder for so long I think it definitely would need to be done surgically. Hopefully arthroscopy will be the ticket for this one.

Shoulder issues of any kind sure suck eggs bigtime. Hopefully you'll just wave the white flag and get the surgery done on that tear @Nitrust . You'll be better off in the end.

Best luck brother. First chance I have to go under the knife I'm taking it

Good luck brother...get it done!

Ya, I'm going to hopefully get a deal on fixing the spurs in my shoulder by going thru my brother's doc.

Hopefully that'll fix the nagging issues once and for all for me :)

Yea, I am still waiting on an appointment to my ortho. If they wanna do surgery, I'm doing it

Good luck partner. Make sure you ask about acromion rubbing on supraspinatus, as that could be reason this developed and will happen again if not fixed
