I'm not the one discussing this, you are. You and DeeDee have taken Heady Muscle's thread off topic at least three times now, and despite HM asking you to refrain from doing so. If you can't stay on topic, HM is going to have to ban you and DeeDee from the thread.

BACKLASH GROWS AGAINST TEXAS REP. VILLALBA’S BILL CRIMINALIZING BLOGGERS FILMING COPS
http://www.breitbart.com/texas/2015...bas-bill-criminalizing-bloggers-filming-cops/

AUSTIN, Texas — State Representative Jason Villalba (R-Dallas) is pushing back against critics of a bill he filed that would make it a crime for bloggers and independent journalists to film or photograph police officers. After the bill, HB 2918, was filed, it was the target of criticism from both the right and the left. Villalba has conceded he will make some amendments, but has continued to aggressively defend the bill. This week, the bill was referred to a committee and set for public hearing on March 26.

When the news broke about HB 2918, it was criticized all across the political spectrum, including significant opposition from free speech advocates and activists who monitor police activities, and Villalba has remained largely unrepentant in his defense of the bill.

Who is going to start measuring or estimating the distance at a moment like that? The cop? What will he/they do. Handcuff you? seize the camera/phone (which will of course be lost or damaged) And throw you in jail.

"How did he come up with 25 feet? Villalba said that distance is standard police protocol for asking citizens to step back at a crime scene. He said he and staff members went into the hall outside his office and tested what a camera could catch at that distance. The label inside his suit coat was legible, and spoken words were audible from there, he said. It seemed like a “reasonable, common sense” distance that would let people record the moment and let cops do their work at the same time.

Villalba said he starts from the premise that police officers “are the people that keep us safe and allow my children to sleep safe in bed at night.” He said his best man at his wedding was a cop and family members are cops. “I spend a lot of time with cops. I relate to them and understand them.”

I have a lot to say and would love an opportunity to talk about what is happening in and to our country. Another time maybe. Having been in situations with the law and the court systems, which are, in "actual" reality, a weird adult playhouse on steroids, or possibly acid, ..and is almost insane to think about. However..there is a ton that could be said and minimal that could be done. I do believe, however, that whether in 5, 10 or 20 years..it will be "us" against "them" and may escalate, hopefully so, to a time or an act(s) that go down in one of the most important times in civil rights and will change america and the way of living forever. We have every right to join together and stand for what we believe in. If it was only as easy done as said. The only thing, I repeat, the only thing stopping people from standing "together" is the fact they would have to abandon their life of comfort and an indefinite outcome. The majority at least. But most are too involved in their comfort zone to realize what is actually happening, and people who speak against there "way" seem a little crazy to them. When in actuality..who is crazy? To make a small example..license plates, car registrations..why do we do it? Why dont we stop? We cant. Thats why. We will get fined and punished. But, if EVERYBODY did it..there is a fight that cannot be lost. Same with other things..taxes etc. Why wouldnt we just stop these useless acts? ...It is not comforting and its scary. Thats why. We could but we wont. They win. End of story. Fighting for freedom in a world this far gone is almost impossible..but worth the chance to secure the livelihood of next generation(s), your children and their children.

I would kill to live in a time without paper currency, the dollar bill. You build my roof, I rebuild your engine. So simple yet so hard to grasp. Would fix so many issues with this country it would be unbelievable. You have to think of the bigger picture, its not about the money, its about what money has done. But, it will never be seen. Sadly.

Suspicious lawyer finds malware on external hard drive supplied by police lawyer in discovery
http://www.abajournal.com/mobile/ar..._on_external_hard_drive_supplied_by_police_l/

An Arkansas lawyer is seeking sanctions after his computer expert found malware on an external hard drive supplied in response to a discovery request.

Lawyer Matthew Campbell of North Little Rock says he became suspicious when he received the hard drive by Federal Express in June 2014 from a lawyer for the Fort Smith Police Department, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette reports. Previous evidence in the police whistleblower case had been provided by email or a cloud-based Internet storage service, or had been shipped through the U.S. Postal Service.

“I thought ‘I’m not plugging that into my computer,’ ” Campbell told the Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette. “Something didn’t add up in the way they approached it, so I sent it to my software guy first.”

The technology expert found four Trojans on the hard drive. “These Trojans were designed to steal passwords, install malicious software, and give someone else command and control of the infected computer,” Campbell says in a brief supporting his motion for sanctions (PDF).

The security expert said in an affidavit that the Trojans were in a subfolder rather than the root directory, indicating they were “more likely placed in that folder intentionally with the goal of taking command of Mr. Campbell’s computer while also stealing passwords to his account.”

Campbell says he doesn’t know who placed the malware on the hard drive, according to the Democrat Gazette. He represents three current and former police officers who contended they were subjected to multiple investigations after revealing improprieties in the department.

Well, at least they got fired (after three months). I wonder how many guys had to stand there getting felt up knowing any resistance would lead to jail or worse.

CBS4 Investigation: TSA Screeners At DIA Manipulated System To Grope Men’s Genitals

DENVER (CBS4) – A CBS4 investigation has learned that two Transportation Security Administration screeners at Denver International Airport have been fired after they were discovered manipulating passenger screening systems to allow a male TSA employee to fondle the genital areas of attractive male passengers.

It happened roughly a dozen times, according to information gathered by CBS4.

According to law enforcement reports obtained during the CBS4 investigation, a male TSA screener told a female colleague in 2014 that he “gropes” male passengers who come through the screening area at DIA.

“He related that when a male he finds attractive comes to be screened by the scanning machine he will alert another TSA screener to indicate to the scanning computer that the party being screened is a female. When the screener does this, the scanning machine will indicate an anomaly in the genital area and this allows (the male TSA screener) to conduct a pat-down search of that area.”

Although the TSA learned of the accusation on Nov. 18, 2014 via an anonymous tip from one of the agency’s own employees, reports show that it would be nearly three months before anything was done.

The Myth of Police Reform
http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/04/the-myth-of-police-reform/390057/

There is a tendency, when examining police shootings, to focus on tactics at the expense of strategy. One interrogates the actions of the officer in the moment trying to discern their mind-state. We ask ourselves, "Were they justified in shooting?" But, in this time of heightened concern around the policing, a more essential question might be, "Were we justified in sending them?" At some point, Americans decided that the best answer to every social ill lay in the power of the criminal-justice system. Vexing social problems—homelessness, drug use, the inability to support one's children, mental illness—are presently solved by sending in men and women who specialize in inspiring fear and insuring compliance. Fear and compliance have their place, but it can't be every place.

Make that injured AFTER arrest..

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/crime/blog/bs-md-freddie-gray-20150419-story.html

Gray's family's lawyer on Sunday said the city is trying to "absolve" itself of any wrongdoing.

"We believe the police are keeping the circumstances of Freddie's death secret until they develop a version of events that will absolve them of all responsibility," http://bsun.md/1EhbA0G. "However, his family and the citizens of Baltimore deserve to know the real truth; and we will not stop until we get justice for Freddie."

The statement went on to say Gray was healthy at the time of the arrest, which Murphy said occurred "without any evidence he had committed a crime." Murphy said Gray's spine was "80 percent severed at his neck" when he was in custody. Murphy said Gray "lapsed into a coma, died, was resuscitated, stayed in a coma and on Monday, underwent extensive surgery at Shock Trauma to save his life.

"He clung to life for seven days" before dying Sunday morning, Murphy said.

Four bicycle officers tried to stop Gray about 9 a.m. on April 12 in the 1600 block of W. North Ave. for an alleged violation that police have not disclosed. He ran, police said, and the officers caught him and restrained him on the ground while awaiting backup.

According to http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/crime/blog/bs-md-ci-gilmor-homes-arrest-police-timeline-20150416-story.html, he was fine when he was loaded into a van to be taken to the district station, but was injured by the time he got out. He suffered a broken vertebra and an injured voice box, his family said.
