Protien Injections?

Anyone have any info or ever hear of protien injections a relative of mine was on them after a very bad operation and illness to rebuild muscle and tissue etc. Was wondering if anyone knows anything more about them they could be beneficial to geting high protien dosage easeir bump for info.

I've heard of this in cases of some heart surgeries and cancer operations. But, never heard of this being available, or used, for building muscle otherwise.
