See belows. Kind of like that. You have a good idea how something works and they use you for it. Also depends on the place you work. They really have degrees in America for things like digital marketing and public relations and they all start to focus on digital and socials impact. But basically you have the right degree and background. In the case below, the person would usually have a degree in english/ language art and psychology they become law enforcement, FBI in this case, and work their way throughs field training and get assigned to a few cases. They do fuck tons of desk work reviewing murder cases missing persons and everything else. They also write reports that describe a certain person who would commit some kind of crime, a profile, based on things and key terms would pull this profile up in a new case. Yes they would get to read books all day but they also have to produce results or they get fired, or the whole department gets shut down. Also something like this was big when profiles were first created but that was decades ago, today yous might have a hand full of people doing something like this. How does one apply for said job, @RCCP ?
From the social medias aspect the person would have a similar degree but also law enfocement, they would post on facebooks and stuff but they would also read all the posts for clues to open cases or spotting trend lines of how people responded to information and what they could gather. So any position would be fun to the person but also lots of work to prove they does something.
The person from FBI or DEA would log on here and keep up with sources, the types of drugs people are using, wait for someone to slips on stealth packages and. Again the typical person would still be law enforcement who has degree in this area and worked thier way to the task department that handles these things. So they get to read about AAS all day and BS with people, they take pictures and befriend people. Then you have the ones that log in and just shits post to stay relevant but they never talk about themselves or what they do they all log reports on whats happening and they cross data with other forums and what agents are seeing out in the field. They have info on everyone on every fourm but the limit thier scope to what resources and manage and what the payoff is. With unlimited resources everyone on here would be busted but the time, money and courts to prove it all in the american legal system doesn't exist so they go after suppliers and huge users where they can make charges stick.
Funny you say that. I had an English teacher tell me once that her dream job was this position working for the fbi. The duties were to just read fiction books, to be able to spot any copy cat criminals that may have copied their crimes from said books.
I dont know how true that is. You just reminded me of it with your post.
I'm aware of people who's job it is to do something like this, although there is lots of paperwork involved. But just like a teacher loves to teach there is lots of behind the scene work to do. I've interviewed operatives whos job it is to just follow people all day and stalk their social media then write a report about it.
