Never really understood asking for tracking, at least for US. Pops up on Informed Delivery quite reliably.

Asking for tracking on one order the response was, sorry will send package out now. So if I never asked would it have ever been sent out? More recently two weeks after ordering asking for tracking I was notified the item I paid for was sold out.

I think it's pretty important to ask if they don't send one.
