The difference is we went through the scholarly critical commentaries, we went back and studied the dead sea scrolls, apocrypha and pseudepigrapha, the writings of the gnostics, the early church, the surrounding cultures and their influences in creating the Jewish and Christian myths. Yup, we aren't ignorant of this stuff at all. I have argued in public with the best megaphone carrying street preachers in the business, even had one pull a gun on me when he finally realized his Jesus was bullshit after a nice little chess game of tearing his historical jesus to shreds, his whole world came crashing down until he had no choice, with terror in his eyes(he was a former drug addict with a brain that was slightly fried, find a lot of these in the christian world), but to pull out his pistol, as I walked back slowly realizing my work was finished. I felt like the Emperor in Star Wars converting Darth Vader to the dark side. Hopefully that guy right now is in some crack house, with whores thinking Nihilistic thoughts.

The thing about atheists, we aren't afraid at all to debate, love to debate, just look at the endless youtube debates atheist carry on. We just want that chance to do it on a national scale a great platform, we want the "state of the union address" to attack all religions, to watch as the masses piss their panties and go into full meltdowns. Poking people with a stick.....is there anything more fun in life?

It's one thing to say you don't believe in god to a bunch of religious folk, but to champion satan really takes a shit on their abrahamic religion. Where do you go from there, I mean are you gonna convert me, try to convince me of a god that loves me when that position is already filled with satan the mortal enemy of monotheism. What exactly is demon possession?

I used to meditate, studied Buddhist mostly theravada meditation, would go through the Jhanas burning like a red sun for 3hrs and after say 6hrs of continuous meditation of sitting like a stone, I entered into a complete void, most intoxicating experience of my life, better than anything else I've ever experienced. I would compare it to feeling like I was floating through space, completely disconnected from my body, detaching every one of my physical senses, someone could have stuck a knife in me and I wouldn't have felt it.

There's really nothing to any of this, but personal experience, but I can see why those zen buddhists were able to get into planes and annihilate themselves, or how a monk could pour gas on themselves and light themselves on fire, these guys are known to be able to meditate straight through for 7 days without eating or drinking. Sadism on steroids, but it's not religion(no gods), it's probably the most disciplined form of mind training there is.

You don't physically levitate. You do in fact feel like you're levitating, it feels like you're rushing forward into a blackhole once the large light that looks like a giant sun gets smaller and smaller as you progress into total black.

Can these people control body processes, sure, but moving objects with their minds is crap. That's one of the many reasons western or secular buddhism or meditation is catching on in the science community, even neuroscience points to the buddhist study of the mind being somewhat correct, but the dogma of karma, rebirth is East Indian religious tradition that comes along for the ride, while not being necessary to the experiences of meditation.

Now some will say that a person without moral training one could become nihilist and we saw that with Zen that doesn't really spend time on moral training, instead they strive towards turning off dualism of "this or that", separation of all things which is common in western society...categorization that causes problems instead of seeing everything as interconnected into one whole.

No I'm almost 50 years old.

Perhaps tired of putting up with what I know is total bullshit, perhaps frustrated at what we see displayed and forced on us. Perhaps having someones morals forced on me by laws and punishment created to control my every action on earth and the hereafter.

Athiests like Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris were or are known to be extremely insulting to religious people, all are older than me. Age has nothing to do with this, you can be caustic at 20 or 120, doesn't mean shit.

As for God or Christ being about love, I don't see that at all, it was backwards back then and it is today. The story is actually sick and twisted, it's necrophilia, a sacrificial blood cult, an eternal security camera and a heavenly prison camp watching our every move, can't possibly imagine something more evil than the Abrahamic faiths and nothing pisses me off more then when one states that this is an act of Love.....the same love this god threatens you with in the form of eternal fire for not obeying.
