I disagree with that last statement completely. Theres no reason to switch from compound movements to isolation just because you want to lose some fat. The only reason you would do that is if spot reduction works. If defination is the prob then stack ur scedule with some isolations.
i've heard- for mass one should go for compound exersices, if he aims to get leaner then he should combine it with some cardio such as 200x running (depends on goal)

2) What goes in your mouth will be the biggest determinant of fat-loss results
3) Compound movements burn a huge number of calories as compared to isolation movements
4) Since fat loss is a matter of calories in vs. calories out, the more calories you burn, the more fat you will lose
5) Because of numbers 1-4, there is no reason to switch from compound to isolation movements.

Grizzly took the words out of my mouth. The only place you hear people talking about "positive nitrogen balance" is in all the lame bodybuilding magazines and websites.
