An unreal amount of drugs like gbl gets confiscated that is coming from NL. Obviously they check EU to EU packages. It's more likely that the sender gets red flagged not the receiver. Using express is also a good way to lose your stuff.

The order with 500 units were multiple orders, they added up over time- So I Could only sit and Lean back, and wait on my 'spanking', while they were picking up my parcels 'one by one' . Just like the situation you are in now, so I feel you...

If you order something That's not on the prohibited list, they can not charge you, but they Will still open and see what you have ordred. And It Will give you data about a lot of things, be creative in how you want your parcel to enter Austria, different vendors use different courriers etc.

Customs authorities have the right to conduct random inspections of parcels sent within the EU. They are even allowed to preferentially check parcels that have a high risk score (e.g. when parcels originate from a country which is known to produce, or be a gateway for, illegal goods).

These random inspections only cover a tiny fraction of parcels sent within the EU. Hence, the risk of customs interception is rather low. But it does occasionally happen.
