mental illnesses are not real and psychiatry is a business to sell pills not a real healthcare profession, psychiatrists and psychologists are not real doctors
I really hope you stick to that opinion your whole life and never have to face a condition yourself or in someone close to you that forces you to change your mind.
it s funny how anxiety, depression and ocd don't exist in africa or in rural poor areas, it s almost like when people have real problems going on like not getting eaten by a lion or starving to death they are too busy to be depressed

Right, because if something isn’t diagnosed or openly talked about, it must not exist. By that logic, cancer didn’t exist until doctors invented the word for it.

I thought japan had the highest rate, or at least they did

They used to when more workers were mostly "corporate men". Bushido code of honor and all that.

Now it's 15 per 100,000 in Japan.

27 per 100,000 in Africa. As high as 72 per 100,000 in some African countries.

I actually have what you would call ADHD and dealt with what you would call depression and anxiety many times in my life, like everyone else, I don't say that the symptoms are not real, but they are not caused by a "condition" like a real disease.

I have a problem with the label, these are nothing but symptoms of you not living according to your desires, wishes, purpose. They are not inherent diseases of the mind/brain, like cancer is of the body. And realising that actually frees you of the symptoms too.

If most people would get in shape, stop being a piece of shit loser, get rich, have a lot of sex and live a fulfilling (in your own terms) life their so called mental "conditions" would be eradicated.

Having anxiety is a very privileged 1st world issue, the same with depression and if you would actually get out of your bubble and interact with people from really rough environments you would quickly realise this.

Anxiety is a symptom of inaction 99% of the time, it s ok to be depressed by bad events going on or by being a low status loser who got nothing going for himself - it s almost like your body and mind are telling you that you are not DOING WELL ENOUGH.

You can play a game with yourself if you don't believe me all the new age mental conditions are nothing but symptoms of a shitty living experience and not actual brain disorders. You have anxiety, adhd depression? If you won 100 mil tomorrow would you still have those? Probably not, no bills anymore, kids are set, no more work, vacation any time, no more worrying, fun stuff to do 24/7, traveling, passions, fucking around, hot girlfriends, the list go on.

I did not win the lottery but I can tell from experience when I was making 1-3k a day doing jack shit on the internet and fucking around with girls all day, partying and "living the life" all my adhd symptoms and anxiety completely disappeared.

Congrats bro, you cracked neuroscience: “just get rich and fuck more.” Meanwhile, actual research shows reduced dopamine transmission in ADHD, serotonin transporter dysfunction in depression, hyperactive amygdala circuits in anxiety, and measurable structural and functional brain changes in bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. These aren’t theories they’ve been demonstrated with fMRI, PET scans, post mortem studies, and replicated across decades of genetic and clinical research.

Mental illness is as biologically real as diabetes or cancer the difference is it affects the brain instead of the pancreas or lungs. That’s why billionaires, rockstars, and Olympic athletes with all the money, sex, and status in the world still suffer from it.

Mental illness is real your shrunken balls are too. The only delusion here is pretending steroids made you smarter than neuroscience.

Crazy how you trust the syringe in your ass more than decades of neuroscience.

The same science that proves depression, ADHD and anxiety are real also proves your shrunken balls the scans don’t lie, bro.

I don't even take steroids why are you so obsessed with my testicles dude? Are you a closeted homosexual by chance? Even if you think you're not maybe you should talk with your psychologist, it could be you have some unresolved trauma from childhood, it s ok to be attracted to men either way is fine

Maybe it s some high school trauma causing you to have deep insecurity where you associate steroid heads with the people who bullied you in school, and your get back is making fun of their shrunken testicles, in your weird geeky way

I think his point wasn't that these conditions aren't real but rather they're caused by people themselves by poor choices, drug abuse, environment, being isolated etc.

Lmao, classic no facts, no science, just “you’re gay bro.” When you can’t touch the evidence, you go straight to playground comebacks.
Nobody’s “obsessed” with your balls you just got triggered because deep down you know the only thing smaller than them is your argument.

I get what you are saying and it’s a valid concern. There are significant issues with ‘if all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail’ and such things in psychology and psychiatry.

I also understand why you’re pissed off about it. A lot of young people especially are caught up in it as they see psychiatrists and the field of psychology as authorities and take what they say as gospel. Thereby feeling helpless when they are labelled to have some kind of condition like there is something defective about them.

But sometimes psych meds can genuinely help is all I wanna say, like a schizophrenic who hears voices is gonna be really helped by certain meds. And certain meds can make them less paranoid. So it’s not all bullshit.

The whole, you got ‘adhd’ so take speed, is pretty fucking dumb though.

classic homosexual anon manipulation tactics, keep saying my testicles are small to try to ragebait me into sending him a picture of them to prove him wrong so he can then aggressively masturbate to them

almost got me, you can never be too careful these days on the internet man, predators in every corner of it

facts, also an 8 year old can't stay still for 12 hours ? give him amphetamines he has a mental disorder

you re depressed? there s something wrong with your brain man, it has nothing to do with the fact that you re poor, stressed by a shitty job you don't like, in shit physical shape and people don't respect you

you have anxiety? doesn't have anything to do with the fact that you re concerned by things out of your control which is literally everything in todays world, instead of fixing what your anxiety is calling you to take this pill bro

I once went to a psychiatrist because I needed a script for xanax (wanted it for sleep). Walked out with 3-4 different scripts including two antidepressants. I only bought out the benzo though.
