I suspect they still get depressed. I do know, however, that folks in poor countries are far less likely to commit suicide. It's people in wealthy countries that primarily kill themselves.

After I wrote this post, I saw someone had posted that Africa has the highest rate of suicide in the world. That contradicts what I wrote and what I heard on a podcast.

That it may be an eating disorder if it’s really a problem for you , I had a friend who had the same went on Prozac for anxiety and depression and also this you can get it prescribed for eating disorders. And now he’s good he doesn’t get “food noise” and he’s full with smaller portions.

If reta solves it for me I don't really desire taking other meds that mess with my mental state.

I think they're good for people that need them, but the only thing I struggled with was food noise.

I trust what you read/heard more than that post. Think of suicide in many parts of africa like diseases in the Amish community.... (if you don't report it, it didn't happen).
Many African countries are poor at collecting 'taboo' stats. If there isn't a war going on for example, rape stats are very poor.. Suicide is a taboo in so many countries, so I very much doubt anyone is gathering such stats even if it was true..
