You've been warned. Spoilers ahead.
Who's seen it and what are your thoughts?

@Jeremiahflex -

Think Upside Down actually exists, or is it all in El's imagination.
There's a bunch of fan theories linking Stranger Things to the Uncanny X-Men Dark Phoenix Sags, saying the monster is a projection of El's mind.

Kind of reminded me of Stand by Me combined with Silent Hill, They and a Dean Koontz book called Door to December. The whole thing where she finds people reminded me of Professor X using his helmet thing.

Never thought about the Upside Down all being in her head though. Interesting theory. So the monster is a projection of herself? That's exactly like that book I mentioned.

Glad you joined :)

Yeah lots of X Men esque stuff. Now that you mention silent hill.... very very alike. Fingers crossed for Pyramid head to show in season 2?

The only reason I think that is because she found it, and when she touched it, it came to life. Almost like the monster was all the passive aggressiveNess El stowed away while at Hawkins Lab.

Only reason I don't think that's true is because the monster randomly appeared and dragged Barb into the Upside Down. If El was there near the pool, or dreaming of the pool I can foresee that. But there is no reason for her to have even known if Steve's house, pool, or even Steve himself.

Yeah, I'd have to lean towards it's not her because she had no reason to lash out at strangers, it seems like the monster would go after the people that hurt her. Unless once it manifested it just took on a life of its own. Seems like a stretch though.

My wife called that thing a can chuey?
But i have read some ideas for the secound season and it looks like its gonna get better.
Just as good as the killing

Will Byers is a creepy little kid. Even more so after hacking up that upside down slug...

‘Stranger Things’ Season 2: New Cast, Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven And Future Seasons

That's an interesting theory actually... she said herself in the one episode that she was the monster. It also kind of goes along with how the monster was sort of within her subconscious in the water tank.

My thoughts exactly. She was alone and in darkness when she found the monster.
Then again she also found Castle Byers in the exact same subconscious, which the castle is a real place.

Also... weird ham radio molestache teacher... let's not forget the blonde lady from Hawkins Power hired him on the team.
The blonde lady wasn't part of El's mass braingasm at the end was she? Is she still alive?

El lived in the lab her whole life. Her social skills are awkward and yeah she forms a relationship with Mike, but she doesn't seem to care for anyone's wellbeing.
She broke the one kids arm. And when in the supermarket she just closed the door to stop the manager. The supermarket was very busy... who's to say she wouldn't have killed him if it was less crowded.
She actually kills a lot of people through out the show... presumably even a van full of them at once. I

So the demagorgon could definitely still be a projection of her. She spills quite a bit of blood. Could be a way of summoning her inner monster or something.

I feel like I have to rewatch that scene now... I think her meeting that guy was just a ploy to find the kids hiding El. El killed her though at the end.

I believe the doc, can't remember his name now, papa to El - he is in the next season and I thought he was dead.

I read an article that quoted the creator as saying they are going to focus on the monster and it's origin next season and why there is only one of them. Now I need to find that article because I'm questioning if he actually said, "only one of them left." Can't remember now...

I read the link you put up and it said monsters, but could be a typo.
Could have sworn the papa got mauled by the Dem... but it didn't show it, it was more so just implied.

What about the worm in the sink at the end
I hack one of those up once a week... I don't think it had any significance to the storyline. ;)
ACTUALLY.... now that you mention it....
He had that nasty worm tube in his throat. So did Barb. Maybe the tube was a way of turning humans into a demagorgon, and Barbara wasn't string enough to handle the chabges, but Will was.
Would make sense as to why he would kidnap people instead of just kill them.
