Your doc says lisinopril is good for your kidneys?!
Copy and pasted but,

""""Control your blood pressure. ... Medicines that lower blood pressure can also help slow kidney damage. Two types of blood pressure medicines, ACE inhibitors and ARBs, play a special role in protecting yourkidneys. Each has been found to slow kidney damage in people with diabetes who have high blood pressure and DKD."""

Lisinopril is great and cheap!

Just sucks if you get the Ace Cough (the medicine can cause an ongoing dry cough). Affects about 1 in 10. Then you have to switch to something more expensive like Telmisartan. Same efficacy, just no chance of cough and more expensive.

Yes, i dont understand his reasoning, im not sure how it works, i am treated for type 2 dm with several oral and 2 insulins, my bp is only slightly high, however i do remember him saying it would help protect my kidneys as well. Can we get a reply from one of our doc buddys? Im having a prob tagging them for their opinion on this

Yes. Lisinopril is kidney protecting and we actually encourage all diabetic patients to have Lisinopril or equivalent ace inhibitor because they vasodialate the renal arteries which reduces blood pressure in the kidneys and promotes healing.

What’s your exact cycle look like?
Rn my cycle looks like
1 gram of Test e5d
600 primo
750 npp
300 Tren Ace
50 var ed
12.5 mg of mk bedtime

This will go for about 10 more weeks.
Then I transition to mast and tren for a short while. This could change at anytime cuz I’m not entirely sure what my contest prep will be.

Hey bull, just out of curiosity, what's your AI/SERM of choice and dosage for this cycle?

Odd [emoji52]
Tell me about it. Took me weeks to figure it out. And not just regular acne either big painful ones. All over arms, legs, face you name it. I was yelling and blaming my wife for switching laundry detergent it softener lol.

Then as I was taking it one day it hit. So I googled it and sure enough. Rare but possible. I stopped and the ance went away. It says 1 in 1,000 go figure.

Less Common Side Effects of Lisinopril
These side effects occur in about over 1 in 1000 patients (between 0.1% and 1%):

  • Itching
  • Skin rash
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Palpitations (faster or irregular heartbeat) & difficulty breathing
  • Erectile dysfunction (impotence)
  • Insomnia
  • Fatigue
  • Taste changes
  • Blocked or runny nose
If these symptoms prove too painful or annoying, you should consult your doctor to discuss them.

If you suffer from these side effects, you must stop taking your treatment and seek medical care:

  • Swelling of the tongue, throat or face causing breathing difficulties
  • Severe allergic reaction
  • Severe sore throat
  • Severe stomach ache & nausea
  • Fainting
  • Chest pain
  • Hoarse voice
  • Fever
  • Jaundice (yellow skin or eyes)

II switched to examastine and I’m liking it much better. I use the Stanford liquid at about 10mg everyday. My blood work has always been spot on and I like the way my physique looks. I switched from adex, the accord brand about a year ago

Lisinopril gave me that damn cough. Switched to Losartan Potassium and it worked great. Cough took about 3 weeks to clear up.

When do you take yours?
I tend to take all my oral meds first thing in AM. Mostly so i dont forget. I split my Merformin dosage up though, 1000mg am, and agaim PM. That stuff will mess with your guts up until you get used to it. Also taking a statin, lipitor, for cholesterol, and those numbers always look great, however my blasts are quite conservative anymore.

I don’t post as often as I used to but I can’t stand by why others are putting themselves at risk. Lisinopril is an effective bp lowering medication but it’s much safer to go with the Ace II inhibitors if you must take bp medications. Lisinopril is an ACE I and has far more sides than the ACE II (losartan, valsartan etc..).

If you get the dry cough, clearing of the throat from lisinopril drop that shit, change meds or diet and lifestyle (if that works) and consider yourself lucky. Don’t be the guy in the ER in the middle of the night having respiratory difficulties (throat, tongue swelling).

I have no issues with lisinopril. Works great for me, I get the cough very rarely and it’s not to bad. Been on it for 2 years.
