Thanks, yeah me to man. I'm in the same boat at you. Sleep controls every aspect of your life. Your diet choices, decisions in a rational manner. Just overall energy levels.
Get tested and diagnosed first bro, if you haven't already. My insurance covered everything. It doesn't hurt to try the machine out once you get fitted and set to the right oxygen level. sometimes your lungs just aren't capable of a deeper inhalation. Shallow breathing/ sinuses and overactive muscles within the trachea are often the case with this. Yes being overweight is a huge factor as well. I also notice the mass in my shoulders can easily cut off my air supply when sleeping on my side... apparently sleeping on your back is the only way you should sleep LOL. Good luck with that...
Also stress, certain food, hell even dehydration can cause lack of proper sleep. I wonder if those Fit Watches tell all of that
Welcome back fellow shill Looking swole AF brother!
Like you say, I don't think there's many lifters who don't suffer from OSA. I tried CPAP - bought it directly so pressure is probably not optimised. I figured I'd DIY that once I had some data, but I rip the mask off within an hour or two.
Prob was I had stuffed sinuses, and can only partially breathe through one nostril at a time, so I'm a mouthbreather at night. Which in itself is unhealthy. Had a small ear op recently to drain fluid out of my middle ear and insert a grommet - I could actually hear it sloshing about in there - and since then I've been breathing like a champ. Woulda tried the CPAP already, but using a fullface mask means the straps hurt my ear a bit. Should be good to go tonight.
