Stomach stapling to soar due to obesity, yet steroids are still illegal

I was watching a dicumentary on obesity and the diet industry, and it was estimated that by 2020 1/3 will be obese. Over the last 5 years the demand for liposuction, stomach stapling and appetite suppressants has soared due to the fact people are fat lazy fucks who compulsively eat and barely move let alone keep fit.

How can the government allow people to undergo privately paid for stomach staplings as cosmetic procedures, and yet in the US possessing juice can get you jail time and basically fuck up your career???
