A vet drug called Adequan it is in research as a treatment for athritus. There are alot of studies about it on the net and alot of BBs say it is amazing for joint health

glucosamine chondroitin....take 2 or 3 grams a day...you can buy the stuff in powder form at feed and tack shops

glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, and there are a few others.

GH.

There's no real evidence that glucosamine speeds cartilege recovery. But it is a very good pain killer for arthritis.

If you can afford it I highly recommend GH, it did wonders for my shoulder recovery and also helped with my other shoulder.................11

there may be no published studies ...but anecdotal evidence....my father who is 55 years old basically had no cartilage left in his right knee...from an injury when he was younger....hes been taking glucosamine chondroitin for 6 months or so and his last xrays showed the cartilage has repaired...and he is pretty much pain free, and his mobility is much improved

about 2ius for 4months. someone on hear wrote that it's a good idea to front load a bunch in the beginning, one of the mods I believe. But I just did 2 ius per day. It made a big difference..........11

There is a product that lots of Jiu-Jitsu guys use called GLC 2000. Here are some facts:

"GLC 2000 is the ONLY 100% PURE, FULL SPECTRUM Glucosamine with Chondroitin Sulfate concentrate"

"Only GLC 2000 combines ALL FOUR bioavailable glucosamine forms with purified chondroitin sulfate A-4, in a 100% PURE pharmaceutical grade compound."

Look it up, it supposedly works wonders (I have never used it myself).

What ever you take its going to take some time due to the poor blood circulation in cartilage. If im not mistaken, deca only releives the pain by adding a little fluid, and does not promote cartilage growth....i may be wrong so some of the vets may need to correct me on the deca.....

Deca has indeed been shown to increase collagen synthesis, but I believe EQ was more effective in that regard. However, you are right, as the fluid does lubricate a joint.

Hogg and Hulk posted a bunch about collagen synthesis,,,a search should turn up something,,,

So Whid,,,How's college working out???Oh thats a bad pun sorry,,,VDC

i finished upmy last two finals today... grades for this year were not too great... but... i also worked and partied with the fraternity quite a bit.. next semester i dont have to work so hopefuly i'll spend more time studying...

thanks for the advice...

Whid, Hulk swears that growth fixed the cartilage in his back. Growth is the best for collagen syn, eq is next, deca 3rd. Good blood flow through collagenous tissues is also very helpful but this tends to be a ligament/tendon issue moreso than cartilage.

Were I you, i would probably give MK's stuff a try.

You might also want to spend some time on pubmed and do some searching of your own to see what research has been done on cartilage.

i found some good articles on OTC cartilage supplements at steroidology doing a collagen synthesis search... basic glucosamine and chondroitin and some vitamin C...

i ordered a bottle of glc 2000.. its fairly cheap and it looks like a great blend of all of those...

im starting to consider GH and EQ... i'm fairly ignorant when it comes to GH.. most of my research has only been on aas because i havnt planned on using gh till i was in my late 20's...one of my main question is would i have unwanted side effects because of my age (19)... and what dose and duration would i need for collagen synthesis... also, what brand?? jinotropin or what?

anda bout the EQ.. i was under the impression that post surgery and what not, it is not a good idea to take aas because it messes with the corisol levels and makes it difficult to recover.. is that just testosterone or all aas... and what doses/duration of EQ is good for that...

any of this info will be helpful... i'm tryin to figure out what i need asap because the surgery is in 7 days... and i dont want to be out 6 months..

(i realize i'm kinda takin hte easy way out askin all this info instead of lookin it up myself... but i dont have the time right now and i really havnt found too good of info based on collagen synthesis instead of mainly muscle growth)

email me at whidaker@hushmail if youd rather speak to me about it there..

thanks in advance
