Surgery

Yeah man I bet. I will update on my routine this week. I will be doing the following:

1. Bicep Curls
2. A variation of overhead lat pull downs but you only use shoulders.
3. Low rows
4. Floor press with kettle bells
5. Front laterals
6. Side laterals
7. Push up variation engaging shoulders
8. Single arm overhead press with stretch at top with kettle bell.

I hope you are feeling better today.

Go slow my friend. Glad your recovery is coming along well.

Okay here is what I did yesterday for my workout.

1. Bicep Curls - 1 set 20 lbs. 50 reps, 2 sets 30 lbs. 20 reps.
2. A variation of overhead lat pull downs but you only use shoulders. 3 x 20 reps 35 lbs.
3. Floor press with dumbell palms facing in 35 lbs. 3 x 10 reps
4. Front laterals - dumbbells 5 lbs. 3 x 15 reps
5. Side laterals - dumbbells 5 lbs. 3 x 15 reps
6. Push up variation engaging shoulders 3 x 5 reps.

That was it but feel really good this morning. No pain while working out just funny locating the shoulder in space. More of a mental thought to engage the shoulder correctly.

I will most likely try the 10's this week for lateral and front raises. I noticed you did them last week. I will see how the feel and if any issues I will drop back down to 5's.

Had a scare yesterday that you can relate to Mands. Already have suffered one bicep tear that wasnt repaired. Saturday my 5 year old son is on the roof of a Kawasaki mule and I go outside to get him to get down. Lil dude just jumps off the roof and of course I catch him but basically with my arms fully extended. Upper right bicep and shoulder took most of the load. Thought I blew it out but got lucky. No bruising but my bicep is looking Swole! Lol.

Just an update since it's been a couple months. I have been in the gym consistently for the last 4 weeks weight training and feeling damn good.

Here is where I am sitting at currently with a few lifts that involve my surgery:

1. Side laterals - 25 lbs dumbbells for 12 reps
2. Front laterals - 25 lbs dumbbells for 12 reps
3. Bicep curls - 40 lbs dumbbells for 12 reps
4. Incline bench - 40 lbs dumbbells for 12-15 reps
5. Flat bench - 55 lbs dumbbells for 12-15 reps

I could go heavier on Bis and Chest but I have promised myself slow progression on this stuff.

Legs, Back, Triceps are pretty much a non nagging movement for me except squatting puts a strain on my right shoulder a bit. So, I haven't gone over 225 lbs. A little pressure at that weight.

Food on point and feeling pretty good.

How are your lat pulldowns feeling?

I'm in the same boat pretty much were you I can't do front squats yet
I've been trying to up dumbell press up 5lbs every week or 2 I did 3 sets of 60lbs for 15 reps incline
Side and front raises up to 20lbs
25 lbs military press this is the motion that gives me the most discomfort
Glad your recovery going well feels good to be back in a decent routine

I didn't mention presses but you are correct. This probably is the most difficult movement for me as well.

Awesome dude happy to hear it. Maybe try a saftey squat bar if you have access to one.
