Surgery

OK so I just received this single 5mg vial. After reading, I see that's less than a week's supply at initial repair dose. lol.

I just re-ordered a 6 weeks supply.

I figure I'll start at 7mg a week, split into 2-3 doses. Then depending on how things go, I may continue at 3.5mg a week maintenance.

Again, depending on how it goes.

I have been taking 2.5mg Monday and Thursday. I will drop down to 3mg once a week in few week I'm thinking.

@NorthMich I think 7mg is overkill here.

Update from Friday after seeing the doc. Was a good visit and ditched the sling. Range of motion on all points where good. I will see if I can ask the PT for those to post but it was beyond good actually :).

I am doing active range of motion as of Friday and should be doing some light weights soon.

Sounds like you made awesome progress so it should not be too long before you are cleared to lift.

No pain really at all in active range of motion and can lift arm completely over head while in front and to side lateral raise.

@GIVEitUP where is it hurting?

The pain is more less in between the front and side delt same spot it hurt when I tore it I came out my brace early and miss 2 weeks of physical therapy cause of work I was just there over seeing job but I was out of sling for 12 hr a day I go next week for my second follow up with surgeon I'm thinking may have just got stiff from missing therapy I also start therapy back in the morning there working with me for as work goes it's a family business by the way

Yes I think Therapy has done me wonders. I got tomorrow for PT and I will update tomorrow. All seems to be going well and I have been good about not pickup up the weights yet.

Just an update for today. Dude killed me in PT but it was a good kill. lol The worst is laying on the floor(belly down) and doing rear delt flexes 90 degrees out with the hand thumbs up, 45 degrees and over head. I feel like I'm actually working out again :)

So, rock star range of motion and things are progressing ahead of schedule.

I have not picked up a weight but I have been eyeballing those 5 pounders still lol. I will start with weights and loads in a couple weeks. I could start now but just playing it safe.

I do believe the BPC157 helped with scaring as I DO not have any visible insertion scars but I cannot be certain. I do scar easy and it seemed to help with it.

That's incredible. Hey @mands I'm gonna shoot you a pm in the next few days after I get my MRI and do a little more research on bp-157 and tb-500 and GH and pick your brain if you don't mind.

Good luck. I had a SLAP tear about 15 years ago. I never got it repaired. That shoulder feels mostly normal as long as I keep up with my rotator cuff exercises every week.

How long ago was the biceps tendon surgery? Did your arm feel normal afterwards? I tore my left one deadlifting in 2012. I had to get 2 surgeries to fix it, but I still have limited rotation in that elbow. That was the injury that convinced me to stop training for one rep maxes for good.

Heavy lifting comes with inherent adverse effects and it’s a shame few post the consequences OR are willing to follow the dictum if it hurts don’t do it.

And the majority of heavy lifters develop problems in their FOURTIES.

@mands the scarring looks non-existent, looks really good. Maybe I overlooked it but have you gone in for the stem cell injections? Keep sane, you'll be manhandling the 5 pounders in no time and pushing the big-boy weights again soon.

My deadlifting injury happened at 36. I spent my 37th birthday going through vicodin withdrawal with a cast going from my shoulder to my knuckles. The second surgery six months later left my hand paralyzed for a few months before the nerve damage healed.

That made me realize something. Lifting 2 plates for sets of 10+ reps is just as good as lifting 5 plates once in terms of physique. Nobody cares about my one rep maxes. It's not worth risking everything for higher numbers.

I know BEING BIG in any way is in vogue for many younger lifters, but I’d like to think most will eventually realize THOSE WHO MATTER TO US could give a hoot how much you or anyone else can lift.

What they do care about is that we maintain a healthy lifestyle.

BPC ?, I can assure you the scope SIZE played a much larger role in scar formation bc the diameter of contemporary arthroscopes ranges from a "big" FOUR Millimeter (the introducer) to the "mini" ONE Millimeter (manipulators), and for comparison a ONE MM scope is about the size of a 20 gauge needle.

And bc skin stretches the surgeon has little difficulty inserting a FOUR mm scope into a TWO mm incision. Who would have thought any orthopod could offer scarless surgery :)

Glad your doing well @mands
