SymBiotics (U.S. domestic)

Not to stir it up but does it seem strange that symbiotics hasnt posted all week plus we have a few people with orders in limbo?

His last post was Saturday, now it's Thursday, I know I emailed on Tuesday but no reply as of now
Going a week or so without posting isn’t unusual, slow shipping right now isn’t unusual but him not returning an email for 48 hours is unusual. I would send another one .

Been having the same problems as others in terms of getting a reply to an email. Might just be busy/personal stuff. I don’t have a tracking number yet, so I can’t confirm if mine is moving or at a stand still. Nevertheless; I’m sure everything will turn out A-okay

I’m curious when did people order. I ordered last week and it was here at the beginning of the week. So if you placed say Tuesday wed last week I think it would of been shipped since mine was just thought I’d update you guys in case anyone ordered around the same time

I ordered Saturday, but I knew he didn’t do weekend shipments. So I’m not really expecting it until Friday or Saturday. Possibly Monday

I have a few emails pending from yesterday; but I believe none are over 24 hours old in my inbox.
If there is anyone who I have not addressed over an order question from before yesterday, please email me again.

Shipping is slow globally. Once I drop a package off; it is, at that point, out of my hands. I do hate that shipping services are struggling now; but it isn't something I can control.
My personal delays are kept to a maximum of 72 hours after confirmation of payment. A word about confirmation of payment: The confirmation of payment is the time that I personally see the payment; not the time in which the payment was sent.
For example:
An order is placed on Thursday and a bitcoin address is sent for payment. If that payment is sent after midnight CST; I may not see or confirm that payment until the following Monday evening after work. At that point, there is a possibility that the order will be dropped off 72 hours after that Monday evening confirmation.
So it is possible that an order that is paid for at 0001 on Friday may not be dropped off until the following Thursday.
With the addition of the shipping service delivery time of up to 6 days lately; that is a total of 14 days delivery time for that order that was placed on Thursday.
This is a very rare occurrence; but still within the realm of possibility and does not constitute an excessive delay.

Express shipping:
I have done express shipping; and it is a viable option. However, the express portion is only applicable to the shipping service; and not to my ability to drop the packages off earlier than usual. I have recognized my limitations and I am not able to deviate from them for any amount of increased payment. So, payment for express shipping doesn't make me work faster. It is only applicable to the shipping service.

There will be people who get their orders within 3-4 days of ordering. Those are much more of outliers than the longer shipping times. In essence, a 4 day delivery only happens when everything works well with timing. I'm sure some of you notice that some emails are answered within seconds and others take 23 hours to get a reply. This is because I will answer emails when I am in my email and checking it. The same is true for orders: If I am creating labels and I get an order with payment confirmation during the time it takes to make those labels; then I will add that order to the list of orders that were confirmed the night before. Thus making it appear as if I am sending every order out the moment it comes in. That is absolutely not the case and is just good fortune in timing.

Now there are packages that sometimes sit in the box for over a day before being scanned in. I have asked about this with the shipping service and I was told that they have been instructed to leave the boxes for the drivers transporting to the regional hub. This means that I can drop an order off tonight at one location and it will not get scanned in until it is at the regional hub. Adding to this is that the worker also told me that the transporters will not stop at that local site if the truck is full. It will be instead put off to the next day.
All of this is a result of increased online shopping in the last few months.

My region in particular was further delayed because of the weather last weekend. Anyone who tracked a package in the last 7 days would have seen this message on the tracking page of any of the 3 big domestic shipping services.

I hope this clears up any questions about shipping.
Again, I apologize for the apprehension and anxiety caused by waiting on packages to arrive. Please believe that I experience the very same delays as you all do with my incoming shipments.

I have some announcements to follow this.

Thanks for ending that comment with a cliffhanger [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Announcements:

1) I will be taking some time off to have a surgery that has been postponed since February. They are scheduling elective surgery in my region again now; and I have been placed on the schedule for next week. I will need time to prepare and time to recover; so I will not take any orders after midnight tonight. I always stop taking orders on Thursday night for the weekend anyway; but I will not be opening up next week unless I am feeling better than expected. I will be using the time between tonight and the day of surgery to do all the things that require 2 hands; so that I can resume shipments ASAP. I will be available to deal with customer service during the recovery; but I won't be able to take new orders until I feel able to perform.

2) I ask that everyone please take a photograph of each delivery before the inner seal is broken. Keep this photograph for your records in the event of an order discrepancy. The orders are always in a transparent inner packaging; so this should be simple enough to do.

3) I ask that everyone who would intend to continue ordering from me to please familiarize yourselves with the Monero payment option. I have been doing considerable reading and I will be making Monero the only payment option in the future. I realize that this may seem very inconvenient; but it is in the best interest of us all.

I really appreciate everyone's patience and understanding; and I appreciate the continued business.

ETA on when you intend to only accept monero?

What exchanges do you all use for Monero purchases?
Depending upon your level of comfort with crypto trading you can either

- create an account on a crypto trading platform like HitBTC, CoinEx, Binance, etc... where you can buy xmr with fiat (typically have to be verified to make fiat deposits) or with btc you sent there

- use an online exchange service that accepts btc input, converts and sends the xmr to a provided address such as morphtoken dot com, changelly dot com, shapeshift dot io, etc... There may also be wallets that will do it in place that I'm not aware of.

The latter is probably easier for most newbs.

Damn. I’ve been using bitcoin for months. Recently bought a little over $1,000 on coinmama.com. Now that the currency will be changing to monero I will need to find a reliable and fast site like coinmama to get monero. I don’t understand why coinmama doesn’t make monero coin an option
