T4

My Dr prescribed me t4 a couple months ago I took it for a month and never went ringer a refill. Recently I've been feeling really tired a lethargic to the point where it's bothering me so I went back to the Dr and he said it could be theb thyroid and gave me another script. I forgot exactly what thyroid levels were burned said they were a little underactive, so he gave me25mcg a day this week. Two questions will t4 help burn fat. And will taking it lead me to having an even more under active thyroid

yea iw as reading about it last night appearently 25mcg is very low, so im not even expecting it to do anything,

Actually 25 mcg is the recommended daily replacement dose of Synthroid
AKA Levothyroxine or T-4.

Roughly 80% of T-4 is converted into T-3. The latter is believed primarily responsible for the effects of thyroid hormone.

The delayed peripheral conversion of T-4 into T-3 is important bc it diminishes many of the side effects noted when T-3 is ingested as the primary hormone.

Otherwise, with few exceptions, there is no difference bt the efficacy of T3 and T4 in clinical trials.

Finally although thyroxine exhibits both anabolic and lipolytic effects, at supraphysiologic dosages the anabolic benefit becomes CATABOLIC with respect to SKM!

Yea, let me know how that works out,
bc such high dosages of T-4 are used almost exclusively for those with a metabolic defect involving the peripheral deiodination of T-4 into T-3

Much like AAS more is not always better especially in those with normal thyroid fct.

Running high doses of thyroid hormone is stupid. A replacement dose in certain circumstances is fine but blasting this shit at high doses as a 'fat-burner' is pointless. At that point it doesn't matter how much gear you're running - it's still going to catabolize protein. Pointless.

I know some BB will run T3/T4 as a PRE-COMPETITION cutting agent along with Beta agonists, with considerable improvements in LBM.

However these drugs, thyroxine in particular, can result in some reasonably serious CV adverse effects of used on a chronic basis.

To that end, what's the point for the non-competitive BB!

@Dr JIM I never even heard of the stuff until my doc said my thyroid was shit and my test levels were low. If it's gonna eff up my gains not sure if I should come off it, I didn't think 100mcg was alot since some people with normal thyroid levels are running much higher

If you're hypothyroid based on lab data, then of course thyroid REPLACEMENT is warranted.

This is entirely different than the use of thyroxine for its anabolic benefits, bc the latter is in many ways a doubled edged sword, as once again to much of a "good thing" can be BAD!

Thanks for the input. So since your a Dr and know all this, would being on t4 for a couple months which they might go up sloe my thyroid down after I come off permanently. I now I've heard that's a myth but prof Fe 's I in a lot advice would be more benificial
