I've acquired an advanced carpal tunnel. Ultra sonic therapy worked well for awhile. Doing the work I do for a living has made it worse. On my way to an orthopedic surgeon in 2 weeks. Check out ultrasonic therapy, not sure how it does with tendinitis (tennis elbow) but worth a shot. Good luck. Maybe @Michael Scally MD or @Dr JIM can help
CTS is a compressive or narrowed compartment issue and although many therapies have been tried in the majority of cases surgery offers the most reliable means acheiving a long term "cure". (It's important to know, "Cure" in this instance is defined as ONE YEAR or more, without the patient having to "limit or restrict" their activities)
The surgery is soooo simplistic requiring no more than 15 MINUTES when performed by a qualified surgeon via an "open" vs a closed endoscopic technique.
The only complaints I've received from post-op patients; "I wish I would have had the surgery done from the outset", (instead of messing around with NSAIDS, ultrasound, splints, massage therapy, etc, etc) AND that includes ME!
That's not to say other non-surgical modalities won't help relieve your symptoms bc they often DO, but unless the underlying cause (compression of the median nerve within the "carpal tunnel" which lies just underneath the wrist crease) is remedied the clinical features (and they are a pain in the ARSE) return in a overwhelming majority of patients
