Anyone out there a Tesla fan? I saw em on saturday night in Peoria at the convention center. They fucking rocked!!! Much respect for those kinds of bands that stay together, grow older, and still stick to their basic roots and influences. Not many bands can do that now adays. Gotta love those bad ass Les Pauls they were playin too! Only complaint is the sons a bitches didnt play an encore?!?! I was pissed. Holy shit...beer was only 3 bucks for 24 ounces!!! That is dirt cheap compared to $8 bucks for a 16 ouncer at the Tweeter Center. If you get a chance, go see them! The show I saw was only the 2nd of their tour so im sure theyll be around wherever you are.

Yeah, I remember their hit "Signs".

One of the only hair bands that actually had some talent. I loved Bust a Nut. Awesome album.

dumbbellpress No excuses, no regrets.

Bro ive got to meet atleast 10 famous bands in my life and Tesla is by far the kewlist ever.

This all took place around 97 when they when on there game.
It all started when i was backstage and i was with a g/f and here comes this chick that seem wasted and was hot as hell with a lil dog on a leash and the dog had a backstage pass on its colar. Well the chick says does anybody want this dog around a crowd of metal heads and i spoke up quick and said sure ill take it.
Well then she starts talking to me telling me how cool that is taking the dog and about how they amost run over it in the bus last night. "So im thinking she is a groupie hippie bitch." And then i asked if i could have the backstage pass that the dog had around its neck? She said sure you can and you might know my husband that is the lead singer for the band called Tesla his name is Jeff Keith. I just stood there trying not to shit my paints. Then gave a big HELL YEAH!!!. So she took use backstage like two hours before the show. And The whole band was like average Joe's and was real easy going. At first i got to meet Jeff and he was smokin a big Marley and says i bet you guys aint got no shit like this around here. And after we burnt 1 he grabs a gymbag and pulls out and gives me a handfull of the shit that brougt Elvis back to life and says here thx for taking the dog, that was kewl and then his wife brings me T-shirts , programs, buttons and everything they had on the sale stand and gave it to me.

Now 9 times outa 10 when i go to a concert ill have a guitar in the trunk just for a special thing such as this. And i did my 1972 Tele and brought it in for everybody to sign. Well when the lead guitar play seen my axe "Frank Hannon" he wanted to buy it, and i didnt wana sell it but i did get to jam with him before the show and help him warm up. Not to mention he gave me a few tips and tricks. Man talk about a kid in a candy store. Anyways i asked Frank what was the first song you ever learnt and he said CCR down on the corner. So we played it for starters and if you ever seen the pink paisly telecaster he plays, i got to play it.

Also when they played again close by about 4 months later the fuckers all remembered me and i got to go back stage again i just didnt get a handfull of bud like the first time. :D

BTW: Jeff use to have a real bad problem with la coca and might have been the reason they didnt do a encore.

And yep i like Tesla, I could be the only person in the world with a TeslaCaster ;)

Bro they are, and for them to break up over coke abuse then regroup 3-4 years later and still kick ass says alot.

And you guys are right there not a hair band but more of a T-shit and blue jeans type band.

FTW....i am extrememly jealous! That is a kick ass story. Glad to hear that they are as cool as they seem. Who else you get to meet? And, did you keep the dog?

I saw Ratt at MSG w/, "gulp" , Poison. Also saw Whitesnake w/ Great White, front row center at Garden State Arts Center, actually caught a pick by one of Whitesnake's guitarists, and I still have it. Almost got a drumstick from their drummer too, but the chick next to me knocked me out of the way and got it (I was about 11 at the time).

But the best show of the '80s bands I saw is a tie between Queensryche w/Def Leppard at MSG and Stryper w/Hurricane at the Beacon Theater. Wow, this is bringing back some memories. Thanks, and uhm, no thanks. Next thread should be who had a mullet w/their pictures included.

damn its nice to see some peeps with the same musical tastes. i fuckin hate my campus and all the rap/hip hop bullshit!

I got to see Poison, Skid Row, and Vince Neil here last semester!!! Great times!

I still wish I grew up in the 70s though...Led Zep- greatest band ever- would have loved to see em. The step dad got to in 76- bastard! I did get a drumstick and a guitar pick at Skynyrd, Nugent, and Deep Purple.

Anyone out there ever get to see Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Floyd, Hendrix, Pat Travers, Stevie Ray, Yes, etc etc etc?!?! Im just a young guy and im stuck in probably the shittiest music generation in history! I would love to know how any of the above bands were live! Someones gotta fill me in!

also....any of you guitar players out there know of any deals on a telecaster, im lookin for one.

I never saw Zep or Floyd (in there heyday or any other day) or Hendrix, but my pop saw Sabbath.

It was at a local Catholic high school of all places. Hendrix was supposed to play but the nuns cancelled cuz they thought he was too controversial. I guess they thought, "Sabbath, must be a religious band." My pop said first power chord played, "bzzzzttt". Power outage and the show's over folks. Have a good evening. Don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.

Airborne you said it bro

The music now sucks compared to the older shit. All I hear now is a bunch of angry little pussies. Break this, kill them, I hate my dad...blah, blah, blah. I heard a show hosted by Dee Synder Friday night, it was called "House of hair"...oh the memories of banging chicks in the backseat of my 67' GTO. Fuck it sucks to get old!
