Once again, I come upon a thread much too long to read at this later hour, but I have to just throw my thoughts in anway... They way I see it, there is no middle ground... or very little of it.. you are with God or against God...

I am with Him... and I feel sorry for those that are against Him, because the foes of God have already lost.... most dont realize they have lost, but their leader knows.... the time is drawing near...

You cant rant and rave about how its all unfair, about how the pygmy in Africa had never heard of God and does that mean he's going to hell? and if so thats unfair and children get sick and die and tragedies befall all of mankind every single day...... And God is God and will always be God and God is love and we are to trust Him... This life is like a vapor, a mist that fades rapidly away, compared to eternity... We either trust in Him and have eternal life that makes us forget this life and consider it rags, or you dont and end up in utter hoplesnes for eternity that would make the worst situation on earth seems like a paridise compared to the misery that awaits. God will not be mocked... He created the entire universe, yourself included... READ THE FLIPING OWNERS MANUAL BEFORE YOU START CHALLENGING GOD!

As far as evolution answering the same question as religion, I disagree. Why? Well, because evolution answers the question of "How does science think we humans were created or developed?" Religion answers the question of "Despite anything science says, how does the Truth say that humans were created or developed?"

There is a difference. For religion, it doesnt matter how factual evolutionary theory becomes, it isnt really true. For science, it DOES matter how factual creationism is. If creationism is backed by empirical data, then evolutionary theory is no longer valid. See my point?

In summary, religious creationism can never be disproven, but evolution can be. That is why the questions they answer are fundamentally different.

Just my 2cc's, but I can easily see how one could disagree with me.

Do not think that evolution for second is science it is a religion pure and simple.

Evolution is based upon empirical data and has a mechanism for self-correction. Evolution is a scientific theory, which may or may not be correct.

In my definition, which may be a narrow definition of religion, there is implied that there is a supernatural presence, and an object of worship. There has to be at least SOME metaphysics involved.

Evolution does not fit my definition of religion at all.

Read the book "The Lie Evolution" by Ken Ham a very easy read. After reading the book Mark you will see that Evolution is a religion. I was just like you, but after reading the book, my mind changed. Dr. Ken Ham is a science wiz!
