The Death of Women's Bodybuilding???

So are you saying the facial features of them become manly only or/and the muscle mass.
Facial features and voice. Muscle mass can be sexy. I'm a pretty big boy short maybe but big I like girls thick and fit/ripped either is good. Plus to have a girl to drive me to be better pfft can't beat that!

Some are going to hate me for this, and that's okay; it's my opinion. But, bodybuilding as a competition sport is not even close to what it was, and I say that in a bad way. And as a predisposition, I'm speaking from the perspective of Mr. O/Elite level of competing.

Today, BB competing has nothing to do with aesthetics, sex appeal, or a balanced physique. It pretty much boils down to mass and veins (sorry if that sounds shallow). Look at Lou or Arnold from back in the golden era (imo), compared to today and the likes of Ronnie or Jay (I personally wouldn't ever want to look like either of those, and I can't imagine the majority of women find that attractive). There just is no comparison; the Greek god physique of times passed is sorely missed.

No offense to anyone into BBing [at that level, comparatively] today, but it's just not apples to apples. It's a completely different sport now.

The same applies to women, and I think GG's furthest point (figure) most closest resembles what I would call the perfect achievement for their physique. Once they pass that point, you completely lose any sex appeal.

Also, just to clarify, I'm not discounting or stating that I don't respect today's body builders. I've got mad respect for them, and completely admire their work ethic and dedication achieving what they do. I'm just stating it's not what it was, and I prefer what it was over what it is today.

Believe it or not, I completely agree... what it was years ago to today, and where it's going... totally different level. It's all about size for sure. We all want to see freaks of nature being on stage (and I mean this in the best possible way, I have many dear friends and they are beasts and it shows their dedication, discipline and hard work)

I've been wanting to go back on stage to compete in masters figure next year but I'm a little hesitant simply because of the expectations nowadays. They seem to be getting bigger and I know that the figure body that was on top 5-10 years ago most likely won't place and won't be good enough. So things have definitely progressed towards size and that "holy s#it" factor. I know some of the shows here in Canada, the figure girls are starting to look manly. So it's very evident but we still get judged on femininity and a pretty face.

It will be interesting to see what happens next.

If the golden era would have had the internet, they would have been the same as todays bb. Those guys weren't trying to just get a Greek gods body. They wanted to be the biggest and baddest looking guys on the stage. Technology has made it possible to have the unbelievable mass that some have today. Change is inevitable!

You're right, change is inevitable. But that doesn't make it better; re Obama.

Well, but it isn't looking good any more - at the extreme size levels.

Single malt Scotch neat is good - but that doesn't mean that a glass of Everclear is perfect - there is a point of too much with everything.

And when the masses are turned off, sponsors and endorsements leave, and without money, it's nothing.

For females, I think the extreme classes are really counterproductive, we all know how most girls are deathly afraid of weights, thinking they'll blow up and acquire mad gainz if they touch anything heavier than 20lbs.
