The keto thread!

Broke PB's today. Floating on the 1800 cals Keto. Might be the EQ kicking in but Im feeling good. Turning a corner. Anyone use those Ketostix? Would be nice for full clarity.

I'm having great success on keto both for appetite control and for weight loss.
I think it helps insulin sensitivity quite a bit, too. I've only just got on the gear, mind you.

I am Struggling guys and could use some advice

I have been prepping for my virgin cycle for almost 3 years now. I have the dosages all planned and have been dieting a SKD for 20 months consistently 290 ish down to 240 approx 19-21% bf

I log my food and stick around 1800 cals, but I have hit a plateau and its really getting to me.

Im 6' 238 and have been this weight since November (Thanksgiving cheat day)

I havent really been able to add much Liss cardio just some sporadic jump rope and keeping intensity up in the gym. I am religiously @ the gym 5-6x a week for 60-120 minutes lifting.

I just have hit this point where I am not seeing the scale go down. I havent seen below 237 and I am so strict its killing me. I had my Test bloodwork and I was @ 460, which being 26 and lifting for 5 years I feel is super low. Growing up I was fat and not strong at all. I never had strength anywhere but in my legs and core (lots of trampoline growing up) I wonder if my lower test is causing me to really stall?

I am trying what I can imagine is my last resort diet wise at the moment...

I am doing a PSMF/IF with a 4 hour eating window where I get in 800 cals and hit my protein macros and 20g of fat. I am doing this for a week hoping to really see a drop in some weight. After a few day I dont really mind it but I need to see this change. I need to see more change.

I am open to any suggestions or ideas, I am desperate.

1800 cals at your weight you should be dropping weight or you're miscalculating which is probably the most likely but if not I'd get your thyroid checked. Also what is your macro breakdown on your SKD and have you been playing a steady 1800 or do you zig zag? Once I get a bit more info I think we can crack through the pleateau no problem

I weigh my food.

I was doing 1700 with a basic 65/35 macro spit I had thought i wasnt eating enough so I uppped it to 2k for a month keeping the same macros and slowly dropped it down after I didnt see any change in the month. That was approx 3 months ago.

The past 4 weeks I dropped my fat and upped my protein to see if I needed more of a fat deficit. 45 fat / 55 pp it has still not made much difference outside of me eating less delicious keto food.

As I said this wednesday I implemented a 1000 cal Intermittent fast / protein sparing modified fast I dont eat until 1 and then I eat
32g of fat 240g of protien 1250 cals in a 4 hour window. Then I will fast again until the next day.

I think your over starving your body TBH. I think you should try 2400 cals one day and 1600 the next and alternate that way for 3 weeks and see if you drop any weight, keep the macros 65/35 f/p cause if you have too much protien you aren't actually producing the ketones required to utilize the fat and if you aren't producing ketones might as well eat carbs. Do you have a keto meter or at very least keto sticks to tell you how deep into keto you are?

Have you tried doing HIIT after workouts? Limit the LISS cardio and switch it for HIIT post workout. What are you workouts like? Are you getting ample sleep for recovery? Overtraining is quite possible on such a deficit

on the omron (which can be wrong and even moreso in ketosis) I get 18-20% bf. My goal was to get below 15% before I cycle but I have this creeping idea that my stall might be caused by my weak test level 460.

Everything I have read is that lifting and eating right can increase test naturally by almost 30%, also that guys in Keto get a slight boost from the high fat diet.

This makes me think that fat unactive me would be low 300's test if not lower...

I could be rationalizing myself to shortcutting to my goals but I want your guy's input.

No keto meter, but through macro manipulation I have never gotten out of ketosis as long as I dont have carbs. I dont count carbs only eat green veggies and cauliflower or my favorite low carb tortilla.

What I have read pretty much debunks any realistic chance of GNG so I am not worried about that.

As far as increasing my cals, that exact reason was why i tried the 2k cals for a month, even tried a few days mid 2.5k but I felt no difference energy or performance wise so i decided to drop it back to 2k.

Ya you aren't getting the idea I'm trying to convey. Without a meter or at very least keto sticks you can not know if you are producing ketones, saying that you don't track your veggies and eat low carb wraps also makes me think you are getting 50-80g of carbs a day you aren't accounting for.

The idea of zig zag dieting isn't just the calorie increase its to keep your body guessing as eventually your body will adapt to the calorie intake it receives to a certain degree.

Telling yourself it's low test that's why you can't lose weight is a bullshit cop out, 460 isn't low test and even if you were 250 TT you can still lose weight it would just be more difficult to gain muscle. Calories in vs calories out dictates if you get smaller.

Good to hear its just my mind attempting to be weak. staying strong- ty for the support

Dont worry I put the carbs in my fit pal but its never above 20, When i say "I dont count them" I mean that I dont obsess about them because all of my keto diet staples = less then 20 a day.

still fasting till a huge salad tonight, but I caved and did 50 minutes of cardio.

5 min run
20 minute stairstepper level 10 (3mins to start) lvl 8 for 15mins, lvl 15 for the final 2 minutes

then I watch that tom platz secrets of the pro series on the bike keeping HR above 150 for 30 minutes

I fucking hate cardio....

Fasted LISS and lift later on with HIIT after your weights and youll shred up so fast man. That plus keto and a defecit will put you where you want to be in no time.

subscribed and 6 days into it. @RodgerThat helped me out. Thank you RodgerThat.

I get whole pigs butchered into steaks, chops, and smoke the roasts/hams. Take ziplock bags and put 4 or 5 in with some marinade while frozen. Wait a day or two to thaw. Throw on grill and individually pack each chop/steak in foil.

Boil 18 eggs at a time.

Cashews, celery, tomatoes, almonds, steak, ground beef, avocados are some of the other foods i eat.

Hydrolyzed collegen protien throughout the day.

Chicken broth as well.

Subscribed to this thread and looking forward to learning more about keto.

Here's my keto fried chicken wings from earlier on...
Coating is egg, almond flour, salt, pepper, paprika, turmeric, and a little onion powder.

It was pretty fucking nice!
About 57 percent protein, 41 percent fat, 2 percent carbs.

Dude! Never even thought about using almond flour to keep the carbs down when deep frying. Learning is fun. Sounds like a pretty tasty ass chicken recipe I'll be hitting that one up for sure even off keto

@RodgerThat and anyone else: Has anyone bulked with keto duing a cycle that could share their experience?

My first cycle I havent decided if I wanted to utilize carbs or not, I love the keto lifestyle and if it keeps lipids in even better check it is tempting to try. Ive searched all over but I cant really find many people with gear and keto EXP so please share if you have the knowledge.

My first cycle is a basic 12 week Test E with some Tbol thrown in as a kick starter. I want to gain as much mass as possible but after working so hard for years on cutting I want to minimize fat gain.
