The keto thread!

@RodgerThat and anyone else: Has anyone bulked with keto duing a cycle that could share their experience?

Yes I have, worked well did about 5 weeks of the cycle bulking on keto 4100 cals. Minimal water retention from the test e. But it was very expensive and not really neccasary. Plus keto leaves me full at 2500 cals so then it's force feeding from there where as if I eat carbs I can eat 5000 easy

avocado my favorite, but not for my wallet for sure. I use alot of chicken thighs in bulk for around 1.10 a lb, or a 5$ rotissere chicken and weigh it out alot.

Financially red meat for me is a luxury

Could you share your macros and the weight gain that you managed during this keto bulk?

Think my macros were
230g protien
30g carbs
300g fats.

Was 180 got to like 188 or 190 then added carbs and got up to 203 by the time the cycle was done. Sorry little fuzzy on the exact specifics it was a bit over a year ago now

Im using myfitnesspal
I log in my cardio/strength training at the end of the day. After logging that info it gives me a larger amount of calories then I previously had. Throughout the day I stay on the original calorie plan without exercises logged in.

My question is, if i take advantage of the extra calories given to me at the end of the day, will i be able to burn em while sleeping?

Fear, if you are trying to lose weight you should not eat the calories back you burn through cardio, that would only slow your weight loss.

Not to mention it is grossly inacurate and nowhere near to trustworthy

If the goal is weight lose then don't eat those additional calories. also the burning it off while you sleep would mean your calculating your sleep time calories 2x because when you punch into a TDEE calculator they factor in a 24hour period including what the average person your weight/height/age burns off during sleep

Im at 1990 cal to loose 2.1lbs per week.

The chart says i was at 52% fat 3% carb 45% protien yesterday.

adding exercise increases the projected weightloss more than 2lbs per week. Which in my book, is a bonus.....i reach my weight loss goal faster.

Yes but it isn't accurate so dont rely on it and don't eat extra calories

So ive cut 10lbs. My keto cut is turning into a keto bulk! Ive had several birthday parties and fathers day parties the last 2 weekends. Ive stayed true to keto but mass amounts of burgers with no buns, steaks, and pork have been consumed. I have continued to cut the waistline but stayed around the same weight.

My lifting has increased to sometimes twice a day. Ive been giving each muscle group their own session.

Im enjoying the keto lifestyle. Its also helped me realize some of my old diet has inflamed arthritis joints and my doctor diagnosed irritable bowel issues. I cant eat peanuts or peanutbutter : ( for sure. My intestinal spasms gone and bowel movements normal. I love peanut butter so this kinda sucks.

Glad to hear the progress happening for you, best of both worlds when waist shrinks but weight stays the same! Easy on the training though still make sure you are taking at least 1 if not 2 full rest days a week to let your body truly recover

Thanks. I havent had recovery like this since my twenties. Unreal how different my physical life is. I took 1 day off this past week.

Hmm, I've never run a true keto diet before. I'm old school so it's always been mod carb/low fat/high protein (55p/25c/20f) type of diet to get in shape for shows. Subscribing for a possible keto exploration diet in the near future. Good stuff guys.
