The next steps

Wow, that sounds nasty and I have something like that myself as well but not that thick a layer (yet), but do have scoliosis that's moderate but corrective exercises have helped and I feel little to no back pain.

Bet to correct your situation (and the OP's) would require surgery to remove that fatty layer that's pressing on the spine.
Stretching and diet but I was pretty lean already so the diet didn’t help. It’s something that you can live with it just sucks every now and then. They can perform liposuction on it but that scares the shit out of me especially since mine is actually in my spine as well.

Thanks for the info man! I'll be sure to bring it to the doctor's attention. Could explain why my foot is numb (hopefully not the case though..) because from the MRI, it doesn't look like my disc's are buldging enough to cause that side effect.
Definitely could be. Bulging disc’s are extremely common especially for people who lift weights or work manual labor jobs. Some are worse than others and effect people differently.

Guys I haven't lifted a weight in over a week, just got an MRI done and found out my L4 and L5 disc's are herniated and degenerated to shit. My right foot is numb. I'm probably not going to be running any gear other than 2iu of hgh a day for the next year so.

So I guess for those of you hating on this plan I put together here... be happy that dreams and aspirations have been crushed for the next year or so!
Get injections and you’ll be fine. I have two herniated discs. Get injections every 2-3 years and only think I don’t do is squat . Everything else you can do.

Okay so I exaggerated that I was running 500mgs of test when I was actually running 750mgs, who doesn't underplay what they take to get the results they get?

And before you take my pwo thread out of context, I ordered that gear like three years ago, it had no labels on it, I literally had no way of knowing.

Literally got what was left at the bottom of one vial and then went on to the next one which turned out to be a PWO mix.
I am always honest about what I use because when I ask questions I expect accurate information. If I don't give accurate data how can I expect an accurate reply?

No one is going to judge you by how much you take vs what you look like. If you work with a coach you have to be honest and accurate with them or they won't take you serious.

Understandable mistake with the pwo.

I'm no medical expert is that not a healthy spine?
The 2 black disc's are herniated at the bottom, and the black is degenerated. They should look white.

Was just told today that I can never deadlift or squat again. Only supported back exercises.

The point the disc degenerated will never heal

I was told that cortisone injections won't help it heal any faster, just help the pain. So I opted out on them.

Sounds like me. All my back exercises are chest supportes besides pull downs and seated rows. I can’t even have a barbell across my back

Fortunately I don't have epidermal lipomatosis, unfortunately the disc's are buldging and I was told to not lift anything over 20lbs for 12 weeks.

No surgery, PT 2-3days a week

They told me the same thing I didn’t listen. I just worked around it and lifted smarter. I keep my abs strong as hell and I religiously use a reverse hyper extension.
Don’t feel like you can’t still build as good of a physique because you can.

If you don't mind me asking, how long did you give yourself before you started lifting again after getting the news, what kind of routine/work outs did you start out with?

I never stopped. I was doing DC training at the time. I just stopped doing stuff that aggravated my back. I didn’t lift lighter or anything

Damn you sound crazy, but give me hope lol.
I'very got people scaring me saying I cant train right now or I'll start pissing and shitting my pants and have my foot be numb forever.

This is the point in your life where, if you decide to keep training, you need to figure out how to train smart. You obviously cannot keep doing the things you did but you can certainly find way around what hurts.

I get so fucking tired of doctors telling people to be sedentary when something goes wrong with their body (being sedentary is one of the worst possible things you can do). I’m an asthmatic (not comparable to what you’re going through, but a similar principle) and I’ve had to find ways when working strongman movements to be able to work on conditioning without murdering myself due to asphyxia. There’s people missing an entire appendage that are still jacked/shredded.

It’s about what you want and how much you want it. It won’t be easy, but it’ll certainly be worth it.

The worst thing to do is be sedentary. All my exercises are with dumbbells, machines and cable.
I haven’t used a barbell in a long time.
Mine will aggravate me sometimes but I just have to be cautious and use perfect form. It’s actually helped me grow because I have to move slow and methodical.
also stretching my hamstrings, hips, calves, and lower back help a ton. I’m not a volume guy so I can hit it hard and get out.
I use a cbd menthol roll on to its amazing

Even with my recent diagnosis of scoliosis and early degenerative disk disease in my lower back I've made changes to my training as well to protect my lower back as well as to help correct my spinal positioning. So far it's on the right track as I now have less pain. Gave up squats and I do inverted leg presses instead and for deads I now do rack pulls.

CBD menthol rollon...got to look into that.

I can’t even do rack pulls.
I just stick to the reverse hyper.
I’m lucky that my gym has 52 different leg presses alone. Not to mention 2 different belt squats amongst other leg equipment.

Rackpulls are basically deadlifts but with the bar just below the knees (plates about 8" off the floor) and not as much pressure on the back when performing the pull like in an ordinary deadlift.

I've tried reverse hypers before and those are good.

At the main gym I go to there's a squat press machine and a squat machine that's pin-controlled and go thru the movement like a regular squat.

The problem is when I start loading up the weight I’ll feel the pinching in my back and the sciatic nerve pain
