The sanitizing of America!

You seem to be as sensitive as the people you mock lol.

How is taking down a statue erasing history? Are history classes taught any differently now that statues are being taken down? Does the taking down of a statue erase what happened? Stop being a bitch.

He isn't.
where does it end?!?! And who decides?!?!

When you are offended by a statue that tributes someone who made a living from or participated in a societal tragedy you should speak up. You will be the guy who helps decides then.

Right now it's not your turn. Pray that it never is...

I am offended by hitler.

yes Adolf Hitler and the civil war is the same thing. What a fucking moron.

Again, you want to compare civil rights leaders to failed Confederate leaders so apparently I'm allowed to my comparisons however I want.

How're those tears coming?

How the fuck does the right not see the irony in the safe spaces they despise so much when they're constantly crying about how no one understands them...

You mean the far right. I'm right of center but don't want to be lumped in with them. I don't lump all of the left in with the far left. People close to the center on both sides are closer together than the extreme on either end. You're right though, the Harriet Tubman= Robert E Lee made me lol.

So these statues are all of a sudden a problem that needs to be addressed? So these damn statues were not standing the whole 8 years of Obama? This is the left once again politicizing anything that separates people. The identity politics of the left is what has separated the country. There is an argument for letting them stand and I can see the point for some to want them removed. This whole thing is just another bullshit political move by the left and anyone that doesn't see this is blind.

Tell me which one of these organizations would be ok in America
White Lives Matter
NAAWP
White Entertainment Television
White College Fund
The list goes on and on. If you don't pay attention your a fool.

You mean the far right.

I hardly believe in anyone being on the right that isn't far right anymore, it's hard for me to not lump them together. I think the same about the left sometimes too though when I watch the news, just not as often. But yes, that is what I meant.

I'm all for preserving history. You don't need monuments of the Confederacy to stand in order to preserve history. Didn't know there were so many General Lee fans out there.

It's ironic that a president that has worked tirelessly to divide a nation is defending statues of individuals who divided a nation... While a divided nation argues about it.

What's more ironic is the statues being racist under Trump but not any other president. Explain that please. If they are so offensive why was this not addressed under Obama? That answer is quite obvious.

Trump has worked tirelessly to divide the nation.....the entire platform of the left is identity politics. Identity politics by its name is dividing people in to their own groups. Their whole platform is division. Who benefits from creating division? The Republicans?

You're right, most do seem to be on either end nowadays. I don't think most people on either side even knew most of these statues existed. Now it's tooth and nail to protect or destroy them. Welcome to the bandwagon, here grab my hand I'll pull you aboard. There's a confederate memorial that I drive by on my way home from work. I didn't even know it existed until they put plywood around it the other day!

That's exactly the point. The statues have stood and nobody paid them any attention. You are correct that most people don't know what or who they are. This is a political move on behalf of the left to create division and push their agenda. The people on the left screaming for removal are ignorant sheep being played and the clowns on the right thinking every statue needs to remain are no better. There is good points for some statues to remain and there are good points for some to be removed. In these times there is no longer rational discussion on any matter, especially when the media wants to push a certain narrative.

This is why I was NEVER a fan of monuments. Waste of money. If someone's really wants to spend money, they can give it to me.
Statues might mean something at he time they are erected ;) but a few decades later it will offend people and before ya know it, it'll be toppled over fast as hell.

Slavery still goes on. It's a normal thing is a lot of countries. Is there anything wrong with slavery? If someone doesn't have the balls to stand up for themselves, then they deserve to get walked all over. I would die trying to rip the throat out of the person trying to enslave me rather than live as a slave.

The only thing wrong with slavery in America is that it was exclusively black people who were slaves because they were somehow "inferior". No one gives a shit about all the slaves in the Middle East though.

The fact is, no one here today had to deal with the civil war. No one. So no one should fucking complain about it.

It's a shitty part of American history, but it was the norm back then. I would like to think that if I was born in that era I would disagree with it, but I'm starting to realize I probably wouldn't, and I highly doubt any white man on this thread would take a stand too. It was the norm. Just like how premarital sex is now pretty much the norm for society, but a few decades ago it was going to cause the devil to spawn and ass rape you.

Everyone needs to take a fucking chill pill. I don't like skater punk kids with Etnies, long hair, and baggy pants. Despise them. You know what I do? I DONT GO TO ANY FUXKING SKATE PARKS. I don't like weed. You know what I do? DONT HANG OUT WITH POT HEADS.

I like working out, amongst other things, so I go to places with things similar to
My interests.

If people want to make a change, don't sling
Mud at the opposing group. Focus on yourself, and build yourself in a light that the public will look respectfully upon. Only reason I don't like BLM is because every time I've seen them, they've been destroying shit or stopping my fucking car when I'm trying to take my wife and son to a fucking park. (I used to live in ATL).

I live in a shit hole state and there was an event that made native Americans look horrible. Well... go to their reservations around here and it looks like fucking Peshawar. Burnt cars on the sides of the roads, condemned broken down houses, dogs and kids running wild. It's a shit hole. Those are the people that caused the trash and riots. I have a handful of very good native friends that are chiefs, and they were respectful as fuck. Attended meetings with the company reps and did their part without out violence. But how many people know that? No one saw Red Tomahawk or Iron Eyes on TV dresses in very nice suits sitting and speaking with reps.

I'm so tired of people bitching about things. This is why I think there should be two categories of American people. Civilians and citizens. Civilians can live here and work, but can not vote or participate in any politics. Citizens have earned the privilege to vote and make a voice for the country.

I don't know that they, the monuments, are necessarily racist in and of themselves nor do I think they are somehow more racist under Trump... I don't really think any of them really deserve to be immortalized in stone but I'm not going to cry if they stand or go.

The only reason they could be suggested as "more racist" under Trump is because Trump emboldens and gives a voice to white supremacists.

In Buckhead Atlanta there is a statue of that cross legged goat guy that is usually depicted with the devil. He's sitting cross legged and holding his hands in the above/below shit, only difference he has a deer head. He's sitting on a log talking to cute little animals. Shit... devil don't seem to bad to me!

No one is offended by it... because that shopping center of Buckhead is filled with snobby rich folk who are too busy looking at their damn phones to take in the environment.

The only time on rich people go there was to get Shake Shack, and that was on the street, not near the library. Bitches.

I think about half of all whites came over from Europe as time-limited slaves (indentured servants) - about 60% of all German immigrants did.

Quite common until right before the Civil War. Still around after the Civil War actually, finally outlawed in 1917.

This is why I was NEVER a fan of monuments. Waste of money.

I would have agreed at one time... I'm sitting in Europe right now though, I've seen some of the most beautiful status and monuments of my life recently. It shows an interesting view of culture and architecture that America doesn't hold a candle to. It's a shame there aren't more at home.
