Anyone ever switched from traditional low/high bar back squats to a safety squat bar? I about had to test my rack's strap safeties for the first time targeting a 25% weight reduction for the new technique. Holy fucking shit does it target different muscle groups.
I have to use the safety bar personally. My shoulders are so fucked I can’t position and hold a traditional bar behind my neck. Personally I like the stability of the safety bar.

Funny you should say that. I used a SSB 2 weeks ago. You’re dead on with the 25% weight reduction. That’s exactly what I got too. It’s definitely humbling.

My shoulders and elbows get too jacked up if I’m pressing and trying to squat heavy too. I run Sheiko training program focusing on bench press. So squat movement is going to be SSB for the next couple months.

Love SSB. I have a Crepinsek SSB. Works great for me...just a heavy bitch to move around. One thing though is that it is a nice complement but not substitute for the back squat. I did a full training cycle and put a lot of weight on my SSB. Left my core really weak and dropped by backsquat substantially. Just don't totally neglect the back squat and you won't have that issue but I'm saying it to drive home that while there are elements of carryover, it is not a substitute movement for all but a fraction of the population.

Without having a lot of experience with my el cheap SSB, that's sort of disappointing to hear. Was hoping with how great my shoulders have felt the past few workouts since moving it over to my routine, I felt it work my anterior chain like a son of a bitch, but felt I could manipulate the core a lot by elevating/lowering the handles. To be continued...

Feel your pain.

Active shooter in Philadelphia. 4 cops shot.
Here goes our gun rights.
Probably a false flag.

Edit. 6 officers shot now.
Dude ain’t giving up.
There goes YOUR gun rights. I’m not giving them anything EVER.
I expect to be killed at some point, been there already got lucky enough to be given a second chance. I absolutely will not live on my knees, I will decide what’s good for me and what is not.
Some of you probably shake your heads at my story, why does this old dude take steroids, train boxing and shoot twice a month. The reasons are crystal clear if you would ever pay attention to what the government wants for us.
